It's a zip file, you can open it and modify the files as long as you know what you're doing?

No, it's not a nandroid. I edited my file which makes apps2sd default before installing, rezipped it and it worked fine.

So, wait - not all phones may handle 800mhz and may reboot....but I have been running 1200 for a long time and the reboot issues surfaced with 0.1+ BB.

So I am assuming either it is not totally fixed, or I just have to hope it doesn't happen?

Yeah this seems to be Android 2.1. Not even P3 Kernels for 2.2 Froyo work. It only overclocks as far as 800MHz just like it was stated in the feature list.

EDIT: NVM It is 2.2. I shouldn't have doubted Pete.....

I think you are both wrong in your assumptions. It is Froyo, Android 2.2
and I am running P3s 1.1 GHz kernel overclocked to 1.1 GHz Quadrant 1489, Linpack 17.185.

I think the title is wrong.

Edit: Also I flashed Fab's NexFont.zip and 928Drioid's Black Glass theme. Looking pretty fast so far with no reboots, yet. Keeping fingers crossed.

FRF57 is definintely Android 2.2, the ANdroid 2.1 is a typo.

The default kernel is the 800MHz kernel that I believe came w/the leaked ROM from Motorola. It's a nice kernel overall, from my experience with it.

Has anyone tried the option Pete mentions above to remove the Shutdown file from system/bin on v.2? I'm hoping it will work on v.2 as well, but wanted to confirm...

It provides these options in Pete's ROM:

-Hidden Shutdown Options using keys (credit to Pete):
To Remove These Options Delete /system/bin/shutdown
*Shutdown: hold power & half pressed camera button
*Reboot: hold power & volume down button
*Reboot Recovery: hold power & volume up button

I've found them to be an annoyance, I keep accidentally hitting the button combos and rebooting or shutting down my phone. Gonna rename the shutdown file in system/bin so I'm protected from own fingers.

@flea - I don't understand how you're hitting that power button - it is really stiff on my DROID, it takes a decent amount of pressure to press it...

Than again, it *is* Damian we're talking about....

I kind of like the reboot and recovery options. But, to each their own. That's what makes all this ROM and Theme stuff so great, the customization. And oh yes, we can't forget the overclocking.

In theory, renaming it (by changing the name itself, or adding /changing the extension) should work.

Device(s): DX Gingerbread. Nothing fancy. (But rooted, of course. Anything less would be uncivilized)

So what's the difference between this version of BB 0. 2 and the one he just released the other day?

Generally the changelog will be in the first post.

*Version 0.2.1 (6/16/10)
-Fixed Reboot/Shutdown issues
-Raised minumum cpu speed to 250Mhz (125Mhz was causing issues)
-Added information to /system/etc/sysctl.conf to help you fine tune Virtual Memory
and disabled my tweaks by default (I am still currently using my tweaks with no issues)
-Fixed Quick Office FC issues

I'm a little hesitent to install due to the Apps2SD issues. I'm still on the stock 2.2 ROM (second edition) and really want to switch. But still not sure which ROM is doing best at the moment.

This is why I went back to NexFro 1.0.1, if anyone can fix I would love to continue using this ROM. Otherwise I'm waiting for NexBeast v2.0.1 with a themed ringer widget included.

Just to be clear, is this the "epic" update we have all been waiting for?

Chances are the new automatic Apps2SD has put a widget or your launcher on the SD card. You can run the "turn Apps2SD off" script that is located somewhere in this thread and see if that stops the bleeding.

When I rebooted, I lost all of my widgets and had to reload them from the market. Is the Apps2D causing this problem as well?

K, so I extracted the rom, went into the system/etc/install-recovery.sh file and modified the file so it won't install apps to the SD card by default, rezipped the file and and tried installing it. It won't install, won't do anything actually. Anyone have any pointers? I unzipped it and zipped it with the built in windows 7 zip tool. Should I be using something different?

When zipping the file are you choosing store for the compression?

No, there is no option. Just using the built in zip tool in Windows 7. Should I go and download winrar and use that?
