Competition in the Open-Source World Drives Software Evolution - Sapphire 0.5.2
With this update, Sapphire is starting to hit its stride. Going from just an upstart from source build, to a true well kept rom. There have been many doubter's and from some parts of the community outright hostility and contempt. No matter what is said about this rom and the people behind it, this project is just that competition. Calling all developers to up their game and make everything better and more polished than ever before.

Amen! The first Sapphire ROM that was released showed some real promise. It was limited by the then current, 2.1 source...but now with the 2.2 source out..........I'm getting all kinds of excited to see what they can do with it! I'll flash as soon as it drops!

I've been waiting up all night for this and still nothing? JUST KIDDING ...source just got released less then 24hrs ago...do your thing and 'hopefully' we will all patiently wait
Any chance you could lighten up on the hype just a little bit? You're coming across a little strong in your initial posts, almost like those annoying people that join message boards just to advertise their own, usually inferior, message board. I'm not suggesting that Sapphire is inferior by any means; however, from your responses, you don't seem to be the hyperbole-prone Flava Flav that your initial posts make you seem. I think that you'd probably draw more interest to your ROM if it these release posts were more informational and less "Pitchmen"-worthy.
funny, your post ^^^ is even structured like a private message... hmm... looking forward to sapphire, bb 0.2.1 random rebooted on me with every kernel available, and 2.1 bb 0.8 is trying to ota update. Looking for something other than bb for the first time ever

Originally, it was a private message; however, I wanted to make it a public post so that if other people don't agree with me, Sniffle doesn't feel the need to make an unwarranted change. I just know that I personally have been reluctant to try Sapphire for the simple fact that his informational posts come across as being too much hype for the ROM to actually deliver. That, and I've never had any issues with Bugless Beast, and now that I've started using Fab's NexTheme, I'm about as thrilled as I can get with my phone.

I disagree. It's easy to confuse arrogance with confidence. If you're confident about something, you don't dial down expectations. If this team feels confident about their ROM, why shouldn't they toot their own horn? The community will be the ultimate judge of whether or not the end product lives up to the hype. So why don't we take a wait and see approach rather than engage in assumptions about one's character?
and to whoever that was talking about not wanting to try it because we seemed pompous... it is only meant as a way to get your attention :-)
we're actually quite nice
If you read my initial post, I mentioned how it seemed like you were a lot nicer (perhaps low-key would be a better description) than those initial posts made you seem. I understand that you're in the business of self-promotion for your ROM; however, I would just dial it back to a 7 or so. Just my thoughts, though - it appears as though I'm in the minority.
