Default Can Root be detected on dead phone

I rooted my phone. No problem with that. The phone was dropped and will not power on. It is still under warranty. Will Motorola be able to tell that it was rooted and void my warranty if I return it? Would it be better to make insurance claim?
Thanks

If you have insurance that covers accidental damage then claim on that I'd say; if you know that your warranty is void, then you should accept that was the risk you took. Anyway would the warranty cover a dropped phone even if not rooted?

This is a good point. Warranties generally only cover defects with the device, not accidental damage or theft or anything like that. Basically if it's not broken because of inferior design or product malfunction, it's unlikely it's covered under warranty.

My phone droped and i called in to verizon. I told them the phone stopped working out of the sudden. Technically its true because out of the sudden my toddler son threw my phone and it stopped working.
