Question Crazy Problem... HELP

I have a D1, rooted running Lithium Mod.

Here is problem:
- Can't install or uninstall any apps. Just shows install or uninstall bar running forever. Tried from Settings-Apps-Manage Apps and from Astro and from Market with same results.
- Can't reboot into recovery. When powering down using "Reboot into recovery" or restarting and holding down "X" the Moto logo comes up for about 20 seconds, shuts off for about 1 second, comes back on for about another 20 seconds then boots up as normal. Never goes into recovery.
- About half of my apps no longer work (generic icon on home screens), one of these is ROM Manager so I can't reinstall backup from there. I think the ones not working are the ones stored on SD card.
- My SD card seems to work normally as music and photos are accessed fine.
- When plugging in USB it charges phone but never comes up with the SD card access or USB debugging notifications that are normally there.
- Can't move any apps to SD card that are not already there.
- Astro shows 3 folders - asec and secure which are blank and sdcard which works normally and shows all files/folders. I don't have root explorer or other program to see files on phone unless I don't know about it.
- Phone makes calls, SMS, and programs that have icon do work.

Symptoms leading to this problem:
- Received low memory when SMS came in and wouldn't receive new messages. I deleted all SMS messages and everything started working fine for 1 day until I am stuck with above problems. Have since removed all SMS messages.
- Installed Fruit Ninja and that is when I got all of above problems leading me to believe this is a memory problem.
- Phone shows: 26.48MB available on phone and over 7GB available on SD card now.
- Tried going into apps though Manage Apps and delete cache or data on several programs but get error when deleting data or nothing when deleting cache. I notice that all apps are stuck on "Computing" in the areas that show memory usage even when left for 15 minutes to see if it ever stops "Computing". Also in main Manage Apps screen the timer in top right keep spinning forever and all apps except Fruit Ninja show amount of memory usage while Fruit Ninja says "Computing".
- Opened Google Voice and there were 350 voice and text messages so I deleted all of them. In beginning as I deleted messages new ones were coming in but after a bit I got them all deleted.

Can anyone help me to either install from backup or free up memory so I can install ROM Manager again to then install from backup or run new ROM? Any other ideas?

This is yet another post about problems mentioning Fruit Ninja. Maybe there is something with this app.

Unhappy Not Fruit Ninja

I don't think it is a Fruit Ninja problem but I think the fact that it is a large app and very popular now has contributed to it causing problems. If anyone has any imput on how to get my system back up and running I can really use it now...

Thank you in advance!

can you use rsd lite to flash the phone back to stock or flash a recovery?

Been playing Fruit Ninja for a few days now with no problem (running UD8). I think you are looking at flashing an .sbf. If you can't even get into recovery, it's likely your only option.

Default RSDlite...

Tried several ways to use RSDlite and it never finds the phone. When I plug in the USB it only comes up with USB debugging occasionally and RSDlite never connects to phone. I was able somehow (not sure what changed or why) to be able to move some apps to the SD card (moved Fruit Ninja and some other larger programs) and now have free memory of 61.13MB on phone but it still will not install or remove programs (only allows apps to be moved to SD). Once programs are moved to SD they no longer work.

Is there anything I could e-mail myself to get into phone - thinking a program, file, ect.... I don't know that it would work since I can't seem to install any programs even when .apk is saved on SD since phone still just gets stuck on "installing" and never finishes.

Anyone have another idea???

This is probably a stupid question, but did you boot into the bootloader? You can do that by holding up on the dpad while turning on the phone. Unless you are in bootloader RSDLite doesn't see your phone.

I noticed you said usb debugging shows up now. Do you have adb setup? Also can you now mount your sd card?

If you can use adb you can get recovery back. If you can mount your sdcard to put stuff on it you can probably get rom manager and then recovery back.

Assuming that you have a backup recovery should fix this. If not you can flash a different rom.

I have been reading up on abd but don't have it running at this time and not familiar on how to install it.

I can use the SD card and can read and write to it. I have tried to install ROM Manager.adk from my SD card but I get the same problem where it stays on "installing" forever until it just stops and program is still not installed. Any idea on how to install it?

I do have backup recoveries and complete rom downloads that I could go back to if I could just get ROM manager or some other way to install them.

Day 7 of this ordeal...

I did have terminal emulator installed but it was on the SD card so now it doesn't work. No programs that are on SD card will work. It is so odd that it will go through the entire process of downloading an app from Market but won't finish the install part. I can access the SD card fine for viewing photos, playing music and using Astro to view files on SD card.

Is there a way to execute a backup from the SD card?

If adb is my only option is there someone that can help me to understand what to do or a link to understand it?

Here is a guide for setting up adb.

How To: Set Up ADB/USB Drivers for Android Devices | TheUnlockr

Although I would suggest using the current motorola drivers instead of the ones linked there. The current ones can be found at the link below
