Default Been a while!

Been ages since I've done anything root related and my phone is showing that! I'm on a really old UD (Maybe 2.0-2.2?)

Basically my phone has a lot of updates that won't download - Facebook, Google Maps, nonsense like that. I'm at a point where I need to upgrade to a different rom but I'm unsure what's even good at this point.

I looked at the current UD and see that there's barely any themes (I like something nice looking - Not that I am dependent on this but it's a plus)

I can't have anything that's going to mess with my GPS/ETC. I need a fully functional rom that is appealing to the eyes. Any ideas?

If you feel like living on the bleeding edge, check out hte GB based ROMs. If you want max functionality, check out the FroYo based ROMs.

I had horrible issues with CM 6 (FroYo) but CM 7 (GB) works pretty well now. In terms of FroYo ROMs, I've heard really spectacular comments about MIUI and the one by Eagle1967 (forgot name). I ran Liquid's FroYo for a long time as well, it looked sharp with the right theme installed.

In terms of GB, well, I honestly recommend CM 7 over all the others.

I would assume that I'm looking for something Froyo based then. Although I absolutely LOVE [THREAD] T-Mobile Theme Chooser For CM7 (UPDATED :03/23/11) - xda-developers the themes listed there and I'm assuming that's only with CM7?

I've been told to check out Sourcery - Seems to have what I'm looking for in Max Functionality, Theme options, LED options. Anyone use it before?

That's the one whose name I couldn't remember lol. So, yeah.

And yes, that theme chooser is for cm7.

I will say, though, that you really should give cm7 a shot at least for a couple of days. I'm so addicted that I've not tried another rom in almost 6 months...and I was a rom flashing freak for a while there.

I'm worried about CM7 as CM didn't like my phone previously. I'd drop calls quite often and a lot of calls didn't even come through.

I'll second CM7.0.3. Gotta love the theme choser, change a theme on the fly and the choices keep growing and growing and can even be downloaded in the market. It _might_ take a bit of tweaking to get it smooth and BT voice confirmation needs a fix to work, but said fix breaks DSP.
