Default I could get a free Droid 2, is it worth it, ROM wise?

I may be able to get a Droid 2 for free, but I'm debating if I want to bother (I'd have to trade a machine for it). After looking at how well my Droid runs with the current crop of ROMS, I doubt the Droid 2 will be a whole ton faster. On top of that, it looks like there are only a handful of ROMS for the Droid 2, and none built from a clean sheet.

What do you guys think?

Go for it. The Droid 2 is the same hardware as the X, just a different form factor (screen size and keyboard) Many of the Droid X roms are ported over to the D2 (but you are right, NO AOSP roms due to locked bootloader). My X with GB blazes past my OG Droid with GB. Yes the bootloader is locked, but the new GB builds make up for it. you can still over-clock it to 1300 or so, but it doesn't really need it. My quadrant scores on stock rooted deodexed GB run about 2150, NEVER seen that kind of score on the OG.

Its a Stock leak, rooted and deodexed, but otherwise bone stock, MotoBlur and all. I kinda like the MotoBlur widgets and the stock launcher is smooth as glass with good features (customizabe dock, App drawer grouping, etc...). There are other roms based off this or other GB leaks, such as Apex, Liberty, Zombiestomp. I would thinnk they have been ported over to the D2(not real hard to do from my understanding).
