Default I think I have a brick (Bootloader Loop)

I think I might have a hardware problem here, but maybe you guys would have some insight. My friend's Motorola Droid was running stock firmware (2.2) and one day randomly restarted to the Bootloader:
Quote:
Bootloader
2C.6C

Battery OK
OK to Program
Connect to USB
Data Cable
It always loads to this Bootloader. I've tried everything I can think of.
  • Flashed SPRecovery with RSD Lite
  • Loaded Cyanogen with SPRecovery
  • Loaded Liquid Gingerbread with SPRecovery
  • Cleared Data/Cache
  • Flashed RZR Recovery with RSD Lite
  • Tried Cyanogen/Liquid Gingerbread again with RZR Recovery
  • Cleared everything (Boot/System/etc.) with RZR Recovery
  • Swore at the phone
  • Tried loading Stock 2.2 with RSD Lite
  • Rubbed the keypad vigorously in case stuck key is triggering bootloader

When I load the Cyanogen, Liquid Gingerbread, and Stock 2.2 update.zip files with SP or RZR recovery, they both seem to complete without any issues; but as soon as I restart, it's back at the Bootloader.

When I try loading something like VZW_A855_ESD20_QSC6085BP_C_01.3B.01P_SW_UPDATE.sbf with RSD Lite, it gets to 99% then restarts the phone, and I get an error "Error switching phone to BP Pass through mode" (RSD Lite is running on 32bit Windows 7, running as Administrator) but the other sbf files (SPRecovery and RZR Recovery) load without any problems.

Any ideas?

not 100% sure, but I believe that the update you are trying to load via RSD is the baseband update. You need to locate the SPF for android 2.2, then load that via RSD. That should allow you to get on your phone, then you download rom manager and flash alternate recovery.

Hmmm... I thought the file I was using was full, but it might have been a baseband update.
I can't seem to find a full 2.2 SBF file (I don't think it has even been leaked yet) so would it work if I tried the full 2.0.1 file here even though it was previously 2.2?

No luck After flashing, it reboots right back to the Bootloader. II also tried downloading a stock 2.2 nandroid backup and loading it. It loaded fine, but then rebooted into the Bootloader.

I also flashed Clockwork Restore to do a keyboard debug to see if one of they keys were stuck and triggering the Bootloader, but there weren't any.

At this point the only logical explanation I can think of for hanging at the Bootloader is some sort of hardware problem :/
