Default ROM Help for the Layman?????

Ok. So, here's the deal. I rooted my Droid and installed titanium and Rom manager. Backed everything up and went into "download a rom" in rom manager. It downloads, resets and....NOTHING. I have no freaking clue what's up here. Also, I tried a factory reset and it just shuts the phone off and turns it back on. Not a thing changes. Another thing I noticed is that when I go into the Rom manager it says OTA updates are not supported on my current rom. I really have no idea what this means. In my system info it says this:

Android Version 2.2.2
Baseband Version c_01.43.01P
Kernel Version 2.6.32.9-g68eeef5 android-build@apa26 #1
Build Number FRG83G

If I could get some help or tips (in English, and by English I mean baby step me through this) that would be fantastic. Thanks in advance!!

OTA (Over the Air) updates are disabled on all custom ROMs so it sounds to me that the ROM you downloaded got flashed.
