You probably can root again, yes. Depends on what your brother did. Can you confirm you definitely no longer have root? Most custom ROMs are rooted by default.

I presume the model name refers to the Motorola Droid 2?

???? When you root a phone, you don't make any sort of change like that. At the most, you _might_ be able to flash a Droid 2 rom to it, but I bet it wouldn't even boot up at all.

To the OP, can you boot the phone into recovery manually? If so, try restoring your latest working backup. And what makes you say the phone is no longer rooted?

You might try the one demonstrated in this Youtube, Z4Root.
It says it still works up to 2.3.340.

There are instructions below the video on the Youtube page..

Have you tried to boot your phone into recovery manually like I asked before? Please answer that question before we proceed. If you can and it boots into a custom recovery, that should be the easiest way to reroot your phone by either restoring your last (rooted) working backup or flashing the MIUI rom again.

Let me know. Thanks.

And if you have PC access, please do not use super 1 click. it tends to not work all the time and can cause issues for some. Use the ADB method, which is definitely not one click but at the same time, is definitely a permanent solution.

Follow the instructions here Rooting the Droid without rsd lite up to and including FRG83D
