Default Phone Idle/Cell Standby Taking Up Most Of My Battery

Hey guys,

So on my quest to get better battery life for my Droid, I present you this picture:

Over half of my battery life is being wasted on the phone idle and cell standby. Any clues on how to fix this or at least improve it? The phone is getting such good battery life because I've only been using it to fire off texts every now and then, other than that I didn't use it this much on the charge.

Only way is to turn your phone off.

It's not being 'wasted' - you already have 13 hours on this battery, a lot considering some ppl get like 5.

There's nothing wrong with that. If you're not using your phone much, don't have stuff/e-mail syncing a lot or have anything constantly running in the background, then what else would use your battery? Anything that's not in use, but turned on and in standby is going to have most of its battery consumed from just being idle.

Also, remember; those percentages aren't representing the usage of the total battery capacity, but the percentage of usage at that point when you checked it. If you were to make a phone call or browse the web for a bit at that point when you took the screen shot, then whichever activity you just got done doing would probably shoot up near the top of that list.
