Default Motorola Droid Rooted and Now phone doesn't work

Hey guys i need some help I'm new to this so bare with me. I just rooted my phone last night using RSD lite and i don't even know if it was successful or not but my phone isn't working correctly now the battery shows like if it's empty or not there and it just keeps shutting off. It shows like if there's no service but i can still make a phone call and it will shut off in the middle of the call. I get a message on the screen that says "sorry process system is not responding." Can somebody please help me.

You need to flash a new kernel. FWIW, It's a common mistake.

See The Guide to All Things Root Related and in particular the section labeled How to Flash a kernel (click the little

underneath to show the actual text. Then, pick the recovery you have and follow the instructions.

For a list of kernels, see Froyo Kernels

+1 ^^^ this. And FWIW, I sure wish the folks who have posted those old rooting threads, guides and videos would delete them . . . .

For the reader(s), if you see a guide to root your A855 Droid 1 phone using RSD Lite and this file: SPRecovery_ESE81.sbf, please do not follow it!
