Default New to the droid, but not rooting

So is there no app. I can use from the market to root the Droid like say z4root or something. Im trying to root my friends phone and just want to know if I can do it without having to connect to a computer.

Not sure if z4root will work. Never tried it. There is an old app that would root the original stock which was 2.0 and up to 2.1 I believe called DMupdater but if you have applied any of the updates it probably won't work. DMupdater isn't around anymore to my knowledge but I have a copy of it so if you are running 2.1 or under I could send it over. Otherwise I think you are stuck doing it with RSDlite.

Been a long time since I rooted this phone so others might be better help
