Recently the touchscreen on my droid stopped working. Because I am waiting for the galaxy nexus I have set up my phone so it is usable enough without the touch screen by disabling the lock screen and reassigning the back and home buttons to buttons on my keyboard. But to be able to do all this in the first place I had to restore to the only nandroid backup I had without pattern lock, which has some problems (note: I also can't freshly install a rom because I cannot get past the setup wizard without the touchscreen). With this backup the phone app force closes so I am unable to make or receive calls. What I need help with is getting a nandroid restore of a rom that is already past the setup wizard and does not have a pattern lock.
If anyone has or could make a nandroid backup of ANY rooted (well preferably rooted) rom that is past the setup and does not have pattern lock and still works with the multimedia dock (need this to get past slide to unlock... miui doesn't seem to work with dock) it would be greatly appreciated.
*Note: You can get past the initial setup in a freshly installed rom and not have your email or any other personal information in the restore by touching each of the four corners of the touch android to begin screen, starting at the top left and going clockwise around.
Thanks in advance to anyone who is kind enough to help me out!
Mike
I have the Stock FroYo for the DROID (83G?) on my phone already past the wizard, but I haven't rooted it yet so I haven't made a backup. I can try to get that done tonight to make a Nandroid BU for ya and link you to it via my MF account....

Would that help?
Yeah, that would be a great help!! If you could do that I would really appreciate it.
OKm, I have to get it rooted today and then I'll install a Custom recovery and make a Nandroid of it as it is. Only thing is that have to do all this manually because I cannot log in to make a back....
Wait, yes I can - I can log in to an account, and then install ROM Manager, root the puppy, get SuperUser, then do a factory reset and then reboot and then reboot into recovery and make my nandroid backup after using the 4 corner trick.
having an issue getting into recovery - my DROID is not a happy camper and will not stay on my network for very long, for some odd reason, and it said that it had flashed recovery onto the phone but when I try to get into recovery it just sits there.
I *am* still working on it though, so hang tight. I'll get it cracking one way or another.
I flashed CW Recovery 3.1.0.2 on there, and it doesn't make a single backup file, but multiple different files. You'll need 3.1.0.2 for this.
Or do you want me to revert to 2.5.x.x and make an old style backup?
First of all thank you so much for putting all this effort into this for me , and I apologize for taking a while to respond to your posts.
Anyway, no don't worry about reverting to an older CW and making an old style backup. I am using RZRecovery and I know it can do CW restores and I believe it can do the newer CW restores. But if it can't I have no problem installing CW 3.1.0.2.
I was trying to figure out how I could send you the file without my logins and such - and so, after getting all the recoveries set up and all, I simply booted into recovery, wiped data and cache, and then made a backup.
I completely forgot that this would take you back to where you did not want to be - at the sign in screen lol.
I've already used the 4 corner trick and I'm making a new backup now. Will post new MD5 and link shortly.
Glad I friggin remembered what I did before you got the file....
