Default HELP!! bootloop?

Hey there,
So i just finally rooted my phone today, DROID 1, running 2.2.2 and well i used Rom Manager to put on a custom rom. it was the latest version of MIUI and well it all went fine, but now its stuck at the boot animation, playing the damn sound over and over and over....yeah you guys get the point, hahaha. i would really appreciate as much help as i can get. i would like to keep this rom on here if its possible, and yes i did a rom back up. uhhhh, please help, i will be forever indebted to you all

Hi if you visit specific handset brand and model forums, you get the general feel Motorola phones are the most tricky to change. That does not apply to HTC, Samsung though.

OK, try this: boot into recovery, and wipe the cache only - if it still boot loops, go back and wipe data and cache and see if you can get it running.
if all else fails, wipe everything, reboot back into recovery, and re-apply MIUI again.

And if you'll notice this is the Motorola DROID forum, the first android device made by Motorola, completely vanilla, no locked bootloader, no UI addons, etc. And since this is the device he is posting about, he IS visiting the device specific forum.
