Yes it can be done on a mac, but you still have to use a virtual machine type window to run windows in as there is no 'mac' equivelent to RSD Lite 4.6. Also, the .sbf file contained here is old and the 2.2/FRG22D one is available.

I went to tucows so I could give you all the exact download link: RSD Lite - Free Download - Tucows Downloads On this website, it shows "Published by:" and gives the following link. The following link is the official download site for RSD Lite, which give you the latest version (5.0 as of this post). You should download the latest version: tools:rsd_lite [And Developers] . I was able to update my phone using Windows 7.0 64-bit because I was working with RSD Lite 5.0.
Hey guys I cant seem to install the drivers? It says "the folder path 'program files' contains an invalided character" I have no idea what this means, I've tried to figure it out and google it with no luck. Im not sure what the problem would be since this is fresh/clean wipe and reinstall i did of my vista. I deleted EVERYTHING and reinstalled windows. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance. - Zack
Well, that is what I was afraid of. And honestly, my gut tells me something went wrong when you re-installed Windows. Go to your system advanced properties -> environment variables and make sure that your PATH variables do not have any invalid characters. I doubt it's a problem with the phone or the drivers, but your computer.
good luck
