ok just to let you know, you posted in the Droid X section, and the dx uses different files than the OG Droid (Original Droid) so i will move your post to the OG Droid and pm you with the link to the current post so you can monitor it carefully, and get quicker, and more accurate answers than what we can provide you.

I actually had the exact same symptoms on my OG Droid (my son dropped it). Everything worked and I could even see the screen back light. Just no screen. I could muscle memory unlock, even answer phone calls while I waited for a replacement. Unfortunately, I don't know how i fixed it.

I dropped it in a drawer so I could someday go back and get the pics off the SD card. I forgot all about it and about six months later stumbled across it again. On a whim I hit the power button and I'll be damned the thing works to this day (my 4yr old son has been using it for games for the last 15 months). It hadn't even been charged once it went in the drawer. I fiddled with that thing for two weeks before it went in the drawer.

My only suggestion is to take the battery out for an extended period of time, like a week or two, and then give it a try. And please, let me know if this works, as it would solve my mystery as well.

If you get to the M screen then you should be able to boot into recovery right? If so you could try to flash it back to stock/factory reset or if rooted flash a rom/backup. Maybe this will cure your problem although it will erase your personal data not on sd card or in the cloud so be warned.

Just something to try. Good luck
