I'll just get "you think your better than us" kinds of comments...like always when touching on that subject.

I got a copy of the test release on this (from secondary source that had informed me about the issues). Knowing what what was going to happen, I wanted to make sure I could fix it and learn what I needed to know. I haven't had to use adb to push a recovery image in a few months now... People would have been screwed if they didn't understand more than how do download a file and apply it as a update.zip in recovery. Really, really screwed! It took me about 30-45 minutes to fix the problems the ROM caused...AND I KNEW WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN! The problems left you with no recovery (can't press 'x' while turning power on...nothing), no market (can't download a new ROM Manager), there was no file manager built into the system so you couldn't navigate to your SD card...what a nightmare to someone without a little knowledge about ADB (or maybe ADB never even being set up on their cpu).

But all the discussions I've had about ACTUALLY LEARNING about what your doing when you root...go over really badly!

Thankfully, Koush was wise enough to have a limited test release...The testers (most of them very knowledgeable) would have had problems...they wouldn't have been prepared for it...they would have been okay...but my guess is that it would have taken over a good part of their Saturday!

Yikes!!... thank god for the decision to do a limit test before release.

ADB is a great tool.... most powerful tool in the droid arsenal!... hands down in my opinion.

Disaster recovery plan: http://alldroid.org/threads/15465-SirPsychoS-Recov.-0.99.3b-Koush-s-ClockworkMod-Recov.-1.4.1

To Koushiks latest recovery rom: http://www.koushikdutta.com/2010/02/clockwork-recovery-image.html

ADB plus these image files on the root of your SD card and you should never.... be completely stuck.

LED notifications can be turned on in the settings, but it is referred to as trackball pulses, since this is a ported nexus one rom.

Good addition DroidSuks!

Yeah...I didn't have those files on my SD card...Had to get them with ADB...that was fun...thank God I could still Google information (like...where Clockwork keeps the recovery image file when it downloads)!

Default Can someone post 5.0.4.3

Hi,

I would like to try 5.0.4.3 before I purchase the RomManager premium. Can someone post 5.0.4.3?

You mean 5.0.5.3?

Anyways, you can always get the latest release from this thread:

Cyanogenmod For Droid V5.0.5.3 (03/23/2010) - CyanogenMod Forum

Also, I'm pretty sure the free version can flash CyanogenMod for you, just not the other ROMs, so you should be able to get it from ROM manager too.

yea ROM manager can flash any cyanogenmod rom for you, including the different kernels, without having to have the premium version. this however does not include the themed ones such as jrummy and nextheme

Sorry if this has been answered already but I couldn't find it anywhere.

In the settings menu on CM 5.0.5.3, there are the options for the trackball pulse light and below those is an option for a breathing light color. I have mine set to orange and it lights every once in a while but I have no idea what it is indicating, does anyone know what this light indication means?

Where are you seeing this. I have the JRummy remix version of 5.0.5.3 and didn't see "breathing light color" anywhere...and I don't rememeber ever seeing it...but you have peaked my curiosity.

it is in the sound and display settings with the trackball group. I am using the nextheme, I downloaded the xrom from rom manager. Did it that way so I could get the theme and update the rom at the same time. Maybe it is only with my set up that I have this extra setting.

Maybe...I haven't heard of it and I had xRom for a short time but wasn't looking for that setting so I might have missed it. As you can see, I don't have that option with JRummy's remix:

It's not terribly important, just curious to know what it means.

Just to let you know, it is located between "pulse with screen on" and "trackball wake" options.

^ I don't think it has any affect on Droids. That option is originally meant for N1 owners, so they can choose what color their trackball lights up. It's referred to as "breathing light" because the trackball light pulses and fades in/out, giving it the "breathing light" effect. I tried changing it when I had xROM but didn't notice it doing anything.

I would still have it, but my wi-fi would reboot when trying to connect to any wpa-secured network, and also the "home app in memory" option disappeared. Hoping those will get fixed, because I love the theme.

Thanks, I really haven't noticed it do much anyways. But since you brought it up, what does the home app in memory setting do? I have messed with it but have not noticed much with that either.

It keeps your home app loaded in system memory, which makes exiting out of apps by pressing the home key go a lot faster. This is because, with your home screen stored in memory, it never has to redraw the widgets and icons that you have on your homescreen (you may notice this every once in a while if you've been sitting in an app for a while, such as a game or the browser).

Before I checked that option, sometimes it would take 1-3 seconds once I pressed the "home" key to exit out of an app and draw my widgets. But since I checked that option, it happens instantly.

Thanks I did notice it take a while to draw the widgets. I'll have to pay attention now that I have it checked.

There is some downside to keeping launcher in memory though, because it will start killing other apps if your phone starts running low on memory.

The example that really irked me was I had my music playing while I was surfing the web, and when I opened up a big site, the phone killed my music app to make space for the browser, while keeping home in memory.

^ Yeah, this is probably true. I've yet to experience it though because I don't use my phone to listen to music really ever haha

^ Are you using Koush's 5.0.5.3 or NexTheme?

I have read that the new version of Spare Parts that came with NexTheme/xROM 2.0 was causing this to happen. It has been fixed in version 2.0.1 though.

Yep... then that is likely the root of the cause. Try updating to the latest version of xROM (in ROM manager). This version has switched back to the previous version of Spare Parts which solves the Wi-Fi issue.
