I have never rooted and have no rom updated or any market apps ob my droid running 2.1. However I want to root. I am familiar with update.zip files and process asI did manually update to 2.1.
However I learned I must first downgrade to 2.0.1 before rooting.
Can someone please post a link or directions, I have no idea what some of the lingo means, like" just add the spf" thanks!

Funny you should say that -- I was posting a reply about what having more options means in the slots and kernels thread and he beat me to it there, too!
It;s not the app that is the problem in connecting directly to the DROID - it's the fact aht no one has written drivers for a flesh_and_bone bus yet....
And our memory matrix is insanely more complex than just simple of RAM....

So, after i do this, i will lose all my apps (no biggie, can just reinstall from store!) but will i lose all the things saved on my sd card? like music and like NOTE files that i use note app to use?
more specifically will i be able to reinstall a note pad program (same one im using now that saves files to my sd) and that have all my info from pre revert
