Default Droid Rooting on 2.1

Hey guys i was looking int orooting my Moto Droid. I came across this video on youtube, , I was wondering if anyone knows if I can root my 2.1 Droid using this tutorial. If I can't when do you think there will be a 2.1 Droid root relese without reverting to 2.0.1. Thanks

Didnt watch the video cause I am at work but you cannot root 2.1 without reverting to 2.0.1 If someone ever finds a 2.1 root exploit which is kinda unlikely imo its going to be awhile

Probably because there is no incentive to look for it as it is easy to go back and root and then install a 2.1 rom.

Nope.
Follow this guide and then follow this guide. Then you'll be rooted. Enjoy!

Yep, but in theory, all apps from the market should redownload (it doesn't always happen). Contacts will sync back to your phone. Just make sure you have your settings synced with you Google account.

i can add in whatever videos you have if they are complete to the rooting guide, no need for 2 sticky threads on the same thing though.

Just send the links to either me or Trident and we will get them in the OP of the sticky.
