Default Bricked??

Advice anyone??

I bricked my Droid yesterday. Either that or I had a sudden fatal hardware problem. I can't tell.

To make matters 1000x worse, DroidForum was down yesterday afternoon when this was happening!! Arrrgh!

Here's what happened...

Four days ago, I went from stock Moto Droid 2.1 and flashed the following (in order):
SPRecovery
Bugless Beast v1.0
Bekit 1.0GHz 7-slot LV kernel
ClockworkMod Recovery
HelixLauncher1
SetCPU (OC to 1000)

Things were 100% fine for three days. No issues at all.

SUDDENLY and without any warning yesterday, I take my Droid out of its holster and it is on the BootLauncher

I can't get it out of Bootlauncher.

Tried to flash a few Recovery versions. No luck.
Still boots to BootLauncher

Battery finally died and I can't charge it or boot it at all.

HELP!!! Can anyone help me get my phone up and running (or even back to stock to have Verizon replace/repair)??

(I finally went to Verizon and added a 2nd line and got a basic LG flip phone as a backup. I am a doctor and dozens of calls went unanswered yesterday. I'm thinking such with such a "critical need" I probably should run stock? Or get an Incredible as my main phone and play with the Droid? Not wild about having a belt full of devices!)

Thanks!!

How about flashing a fresh SBF? If you aren't getting past the bootloader, then the recovery won't help you. You have to dig deeper.

Follow these directions. Post back when done.

For charging your battery, use the wall charger. Once completely dead plugging into the computer isn't effective. Plug it in and leave it for a while (like 8 hours or more). Worked for me when I had my phone completely die a few weeks ago.

Yup.. sounds like something went corrupt with possibly the kernel.. Rare, but it does happen.

Charge it up, flash the SBF, re-root and start over. If it does it again, just reflash the SBF and call Verizon for a replacement.

As a doctor I'd say reliability > fun, at least when a lot of your business is likely done over the phone. But I'm not you nor a doctor so I wouldn't know really, the Incredible is a good phone that is faster than the droid at stock. It still won't be able to do the "root" things, but honestly I could live with the Sense UI.

I charged it for 10 hours. Still boots into Bootloader, but now its flashing "battery Low -- Cannot program" so I don;t think I will be able to flash SBF.

Verizon is sending me a replacement... of course I never told them mine was rooted/OC'd when the problem started.

Should I root the new one or bag it (unless I get a Incredible as my daily driver?)??

Thanks for all the help.

be weary of sending it to verizon because if they find out that you have tried to install a ROM and thats the cause of the issue you might get charged the cost of the phone.

When you say Bootloader what exactly to do mean, the M logo?

The M logo appears.

Then the screen goes black and ...

What can I do to wipe the ROM before I send it in?

It doesn't seem to be taking a charge now. I have it plugged into the wall charger.

I will try charging again and see if I can reflash the SBF using the PC Utility

This really sucks!!

Thanks all for help and input.

Before the battery drained and it wouldn't take a charge, I was able to boot into Clockwork> I tried several backups with no help.

Use the new phone to charge the battery, then flash the SBF to the old one before returning it
