Allows you to hold the phone in your left hand. This procedure isn't supported in the standard Android 2.1 OS.

I get notoriously bad reception when using the left hand feature, will this be addressed in Froyo 2.2?

Thanks, but that's what the feature is called, so I got that.
What I am wondering us what the setting does, what it changes in the UI or what functionality is modified...

No worries, I actually got a laugh out of it.
The feature is in Call Settings, and it is called:
Use left hand
Use left had hold the phone, need a reboot to effect
Grammar issues quoted intact from phone.
Just curious what it does, I was just going to select it, since I hold my phone in my left hand most of the time, but was curious what I would be doing, since settings sometimes change things that aren't obvious or UI related...

Uh, yeah... I'm left-handed and I don't see what this "feature" does or why I should enable it, but I feel I should.

Not so much the hang up button (that's in the middle) but the dial pad button and speaker phone button.
I love when little things like this are found...

Ah, so it is functional. I can see a use for this. I'm ambidextrous and generally just use whatever hand I pick something up w/, and when I do it w/ my phone, it's a bit awkward. They're def set up for righties. It's not even so much the configuration as it is the calibration.

Wow. I was waiting for this thread to go into left field. Nice feature for the lefties!
The Motorola Droid - the first ever Verizon Android Phone - exploded onto the mobile market with an incredibly successful ad campaign that brough Android to the masses. With a huge and vibrant touchscreen, solid metal body, full QWERTY keyboard, 5M... Read More
