Default Setting up Google Voice for Verizon?

I have had a Google Voice account for several months now. When I first set it up, I picked a phone number to assign to it. However, no one calls me on that number. The only calls I get are to my cell.

How can I setup Google Voice to replace my Verizon voicemail, and my Verizon VVM?

I have the app installed on my phone. However, I am unable to find any options to authorize it to answer my voicemail.

go to your Google Voice account on the PC, then click on "settings" (upper right corner) and make sure you "activate" your cell number. A popup will appear with a serries of number and will asks you to dial it on your cell. That's it.

edit: looks like Howie beat me to it
