I have been doing some reading and i see alot of other users are having issues with various video formats since the update from 2.1 to 2.2. I myself have around 10 mp4 movies on my motorola droid. they all worked when i was on 2.1 but after the update to 2.2 4 of my 10 movies stopped working. so i was playing around on my phone and i had downloaded astro file manager for free from the marketplace and i navigated to my sd card and found the movies that no longer worked. just out of curiosity before i was about to delete them i decided to try to change the file format name. so i chose to edit the file name from mp4 to wmv and to my surprise it worked i tried with all 4 movies and they all worked after changing the file name to wmv instead of mp4. Im not stating that this will work for all im just stating this worked in my particular case. hopefully this will help someone out there.
