Default Nexus Animated Wallpapers on Droid

Okay I was able to get the animated live wallpapers working on the 2.1 ROM (only Nexus does not work).

Disclaimer: This can brick your phone and should only be done if you know what you are doing and are willing to take the risk, I bear no responsibility for your actions.

Directions.

1. Download this zip file, it contains the necessary lib files and the live wallpaper files.
wallpaper files - MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service
lib files - MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service

2. Unzip these files and place on your SDCARD. (I created 2 folders one named libs and the other app). You need to place the four Live wallpaper files in the app folder and the lib files need to be in the lib folder.

3. Restart your phone in the recover console.
4. Select mount sub-menu
5. mount sdcard and system
6. type busybox cp /sdcard/libs/* /system/lib
7. type busybox cp /sdcard/app/* /system/app
8. unmount both sdcard and system
9. restart your phone

Bricking is the process by which your phone will no longer start to the Android software, the unbricking is the restoring of a nandroid backup.

Ahh okay. Heh I'm used to 'bricking' == its only good as a brick. Good to hear we've gotten to a point where thats a rare situation with these.

Forgot to thank you in my first post, btw. Thanks.

Quite true, but since you are changing the lib files without a nandroid backup it is a possibility.

Yea, people are throwing the "brick" term around too much. It's lost its real meaning.

NICE!!! I may have to breakdown and ROOT and the whole deal. How has battery life been while using the animated papers?

THX FOR THIS!

Don't know if OP updated his links or not, but some people were having problems with the original lib set, making it so headphone jack would no longer work.

Someone has posted a minimal libset (2 libs only) here that doesn't break headphones as the original does.

Note its still p3's work, just minimal-ized. No less CREDIT goes to him. Without people getting this stuff started noone would even consider 'fixing' it, so.

On a side note, do the lag from these make the phone unuseable?

Did you follow his directions on a rooted phone or did you just copy the wallpaper files?

Not being insulting I don't know you so obviously don't know how much you know ).

@ OP: A few video suggestions...

Either switch your focus to Macro mode on your video camera, or back away from the phone when filming. You're too close and you're out of focal range. Kind of loses the wow factor when it's blurry.

Also, it's better to use a tripod or even just set the camera on some books and hold the phone instead. You'll have less shakiness.

Just some suggestions, seriously, not trying to be mean.

Oh and nice work, btw.

Does this require root? I'm guessing it does require 2.1 to be running on the phone, correct?

Is there any reason this wouldn't work with the Bugless Beauty ROM
