Default BBV06 Kernel Question

Does anyone know if all the Froyo Kernels are compatible with BBV06. Im currently onBBV05 about to flash V06 and Im wondering if ther is changelog showing what kernel is in V06 and if its overclocked. I am using the Chevy lv1000mhz and i hate the battery life. Any suggestions are welcome.

By looking at the changelog, it looks like an 800Mhz build of a Slayher kernel.

Where are you seeing the changelog for V06? On Petes website I only see the changelog for V05.

meh, I used to like Bugless Beast ROMs but since CM 5 he has been behind the curve and finally imo has fallen into irrelevance.

I hate to say this, because Pete's was the first ROM that I downloaded on my Droid, but you're right about him falling behind the curve. The difference though that I see in BB.6 is that he's learned how to build ROMs from source, rather than modding, say CM, with his own little tweaks. I'm in the process of loading this one up right now, we'll see how it goes. I will say that with all of the ROMs that i've used this past year, BB seems to play the nicest with my phone so i do hope that it continues. I really hope he keeps learning about android so that he can create some killer GB ROMs here in the coming months.

Will report back sometime tomorrow to let you guys know what its like...

Don't worry guys, he has been learning a ton lately and you can expect to see some really, really nice stuff from Pete soon.

Also he managed to overload my server in 48 minutes today with 0.6.

Not worried when Pete is creating. I have the utmost respect for him. I wish he would work his magic on a Droid X ROM.

Damn, I just earlier ran into a twitter post showing 2 built from AOSP DROID (OG) Gingerbread ROMs....

I want to try Pete's new BB, as well....it's been a long time since I played with a BB, and I know he was planning some mighty good things for this release, from several months ago....

Great, Now I have a backlog of 4 ROMs to try in the space of a night....blah.

Damn you Pete!!

After the several small, but annoying issues I had with BB 0.5 (market issues/homescreen lag), I wasn't particularly inclined to flash 0.6. However, a scroll through the change log definitely changed my mind.

The long press on back to kill the app in the foreground is a feature that does not work for me on CM6; Here it does.

The overall smoothness and speed combined with the Gingerbread theme make me more than happy to settle for 2.2.1, when there are new (but broken) Gingerbread ROMS out there. (Also, I need the battery percentage in the status bar icon and this has it.)

The blocked ads without AdFree Android, both in the apps and browser, was a welcome addition after running CM for so long.

My only real complaint so far is the auto-brightness setting defaults a little to dim for my tastes.

Check Pete's app and see if there is a way to actually adjust the autobrightness settings. I have it in LFY, and I know Pete has collaborated with at least one dev who also worked with Liquid on LFY, so it might be hidden in that special Pete's app (if that app still exists in this ROM).

I appreciate the quick reply and suggestion. Unfortunately though his app isn't loaded onto this rom as he has moved almost all of those features into his ROM toolkit found in the settings menu. And after just double checking to see if it was in there, I can confidently report back that it is not.

I know a lot of people frown on the lack of customization in BB but I really don't mind it. I think thats just how he wants his ROMs to be right now. and Pete is basically the godfather of the OG DROID ROMs.
I for one will without doubt load this up and see how he is progressing and think back to the first time I rooted the DROID back in the ADB Shell days.

For anyone who's on the fence, Pete posted that there were a few little issues with 0.6 so he will be updating it and releasing an update (0.6.1) soon.

Can anyone elaborate on what the multitouch fix listed in the changelog is? Does it make multitouch on the GB keyboard work properly (ie hold the shift key and press a letter to get uppercase) and/or rotate in maps 5.0? Just curious.

Rotating the maps with 2 fingers works!!

I never heard of being able to push the shift key while typing, so i tried it. A little bit weird for me: holding the shift key, while pressing another key on the right side of the keyboard (any keys to the right of the EDX column of keys) allows me to type in caps. trying to type using those small number of keys on the left side of the keyboard didn't work. it only registered that i was touching the shift key. is this a GB/ROM issue? i thought i remembered that the droid had that 'mulit-touch problem' where if the points were too close together, it couldn't recognize the multi-touch.

hope that makes sense for you

Go into Settings => ROM toolkit => Performance and pick a min/max frequency to your liking.

I'm very happy with this fast/smooth ROM... only issue is the market force closing, I assume this is being addressed in 6.1?

Yes, download the 2.2.7_Vending.apk zip from the link below, then extract the zip file, put the Vending.apk on your SD card and install it like any other apk (using Astro or another package installer).

Who is going to...[Re-Revisited]-Vending.apk - Droid Forum - Verizon Droid & the Motorola Droid Forum

But you should make a nandroid backup first, just in case!

Pete said in his Twitter that you're probably fine installing 0.6.1 over 0.6 without a wipe, but not to complain if anything goes wrong (in other words, don't wipe at your own risk). My advice is to try it without wiping, then if you see a lot of lag or FCs, try doing it again, but wipe this time.

I installed 0.6.1 over 0.6 without an issue. I still miss it not having the LED notification settings, but otherwise this works like a dream

not interested in try 0.6.1 but thats my loss.
Installed this when it came out and it gave me great performance. That was until today where the rom is sluggish and freezing often. I have rebooted probably over 4 times today but nothing seemed to fix the issue. Im tired of flashing roms right now so i think ill go back to one i liked and stick with it.

My market apps didn't restore after a wipe and install, any ideas?
