Reserved for updates and notes...

Ok, a few quick notes.
First and foremost, thanks to cyanogenmod team, cvpcs, and mtwebster for making the droid a functional gingerbread rom
I built this from the ground up.
This is a beta.
Please let me know if there are any issues, i've been testing for the last few weeks as my daily driver.
It is not yet optimized/zipaligned. Performance is already awesome but it will get better once I establish it's fully functional. The zipalign/optimize process takes a while, and I don't want to do it until I know everything is fully functional. Will be done for version 1 FINAL.
Have not added a few things yet including rotary lock, and pandora. will also be in final release.

Battery life and performance are both superior to froyo versions of the ROM.

I don't know if this i s a bug or intentional but my 3g and signal indicators are white. The battery indicator is green. The previous GB ROMs I used, they were all green. Is there a way to have them all green?

Icons are stock from google AOSP. Thinking of changing them down the line, haven't yet...

Running smooth. Quick interface, CPU seems to be chugging right along. One thing i can't get to work though is the Power Control Widget. It will come up on the screen but it is all blank (with no option to select what controls appear). Any thoughts?

I've noticed it does that when you first load a ROM, any ROM - not just mine. Reboot or give it a few minutes it will pop up and never happen again. Either that or try manually toggling brightness or wifi in the settings menu, that might make it appear also. Either way, once it's there, it doesn't go away again

Tried reboot, no go. Waited for several minutes, no go. Manually adjusted wi-fi, and THAT did it!

However, I noticed that when the wi-fi was toggled off, 3G did not return. I had to manually turn off/on data to get it to restore. Not sure if it's a bug, or what, but something I noticed.

Can't sync via USB. The notification is there to select to xfer files to/from phone via USB, but when I tap it, it just flashes the toggle screen and goes back to the home screen without allowing me to xfer between the phone and my computer. I don't see a USB settings in the menus. Any help on this?

Just loaded it up and it looks promising so far. Any chance of getting a special "master controls" type menu in the settings like in other ROMs? I just want to tweak little things like power controls in the status bar and whatnot.

This is def. a bug. I am going to try and fix it soon

...EDIT: a few people have told me its working.

Is USB mass storage working for anyone? If so, have you changed anything in the ROM (IE: Kernel?) and how did you install?

Liking the rom so far. 1 question. I noticed when I leave my finger on the screen to scroll or swype I start to get some grey border. What's up with that?

Not working for me. Running the ROM as it came. I'll try a few things and see if it goes away.

Edit: restarted a few times and ran Fix Permissions in RM, still force closes as son as I launch it. Everyhting else seems good so far, though!

same...just installed read this and same result.

also, the power widget initially was blank (no options) and then suddenly when I turned on bluetooth via the settings menu worked fine thereafter.

CM7 Build 24 just broke my camera. So before restoring back to Build 23, I figured I'd give this one a shot. Good times.

I noticed that it has the old version of the Market. Also I am a TouchDown user, and this may be a problem with the app rather than the rom, but I was able to restore the Touchdown app, but the license that I paid for did not restore. Also it is nowhere to be found on the Market. Any thoughts?

Confirmed. Noticed that the market doesn't reflect all my apps - those I sideloaded upon installing the ROM regardless of whether I reboot or force stop or clear data.

Unrelated: also notice on bluetooth voice dial that the volume of the "speak now" can't be permanently changed. You can increase it for a given call but then it appears to default back to mid-volume the next time.

Otherwise running smoothly so far.

Loaded up fine.
-Power widget had to be rebooted to work.
-Had to reboot again after that to get 3g working (sometimes happens on my phone)
-Launcher pro would not let me change the dock appearance to anything custom. Went around this by using tibu to restore my old dock.
-Kernel is fast and smooth.
-I don't use BT so no report.
-camera is working but video is not.
-battery percentage would be nice additon.

Will report more if found. Thanks Dew!

Just ran through your list. No problems w/3g, I can change dock appearance to any choice on Launcherpro and video/camcorder initially force closed but then worked fine the second time.

Gave it a go, but staying with Smoked Glass Charity 11 for now. At least on mine, my indicator light doesn't work (no LED for missed call, Handcent, or voicemail.) I need that.

Other issues:
For some reason, 3D drawer in Launcher Pro doesn't work. Just had to go back to 2D to fix that.
Sensors seemed very jumpy in Google Sky. Actually, holding the phone sideways (USB port facing down) seemed to go the opposite way of me going left and right. Also caused the homepage to no longer auto-rotate, but running any other app that rotated the screen seemed to fix it.
Cosmetically, I'd like the smoked glass theme like in Charity 11, and the "disc" battery meter.

Love the "turning off an old CRT television" effect when turning off the display.

I believe I can confirm the indicator light issues. Agree that Google Sky seems jumpy - haven't had enough time to see whether that's a calibration issue or something else. Did not have the problem on auto-rotate after though.

flashing....z0mg! it's so exciting! lol....i'll update this post with my thoughts.

*update*

2.3.2 is up and running. it seems a bit choppy with the stock launcher and with launcher pro. i flashed good old chevyno1 kernel and it's still the same. camera works, camcorder FC'ed on me and now camera won't work either (restart fixed that but camcorder is a no go for me). i dont think the light indicator is working either but i need to double check that. i'll most likely revert back to v11.1 but ill try it out for a day or 2.

Thanks dew912! All Gingerbread donations should go towards your education fund. Everything seems to work awesome so far running adw launcher. Same here on negative usb and indicator light. That seems to be it though.
I'm not sure if it's Gingerbread or Charity but the fact that I can clear a missed call right from the pull down menu is great. It was a pain to have to go to the call log to clear the status bar of missed calls.

Weird, i had no problems with indicator light. did you guys wipe data/cache/davlik cache before installing?

Also, if you wipe davlik or it's your first GB Rom, it will run like SHIT for the first 24-48 hours until your phone figures out what happened to it (speaking technically).

Also, if you wipe davlik or it's your first GB Rom, it will run like SHIT for the first 24-48 hours until your phone figures out what happened to it (speaking technically).
after double checking, i wasnt having the indicator problem, just the camcorder problem. i flashed v11.1 again but i just might flash ginger again and see what happens over the weekend. thanks again dew!

*update*
after clearing the davlik cache, i can connect to my computer via usb, camcorder comes on, i can press the record button and the time will start going but the screen freezes. no FC as of yet but the videos "produced" dont work. camera works fine, indicator light works as suppose to. overall seems less buggy and choppy after clearing the davlik cache.

Indicator lights work for me, camera works, camcorder fc's. Other than that, im loving it! I especially like the tv-esque way the screen turns off after being idle. Good job, dew

Also, my notification lights aren't working as well. Formatted everything, to include batt stats and davlik cache

Yeah I forgot to mention the TV type closeout is awesome. I just looked at my phone and the indicator was flashing green for email. Maybe it's kicking in.

Any idea on whether battery life using the included Raidzero 1000Mhz Kernel would be better than Chevy's ULV 1100mhz kernel (which has always worked great with my phone)?

Wiped Dalvik Cache - indicator light for email now works. Camera works initially but if you switch to Camcorder recording, image freezes and force closes and after that the camera also doesn't work - screen image is black. USB sync also not working.

Reboot gets back camera functionality.

Default stupid phone...

Thanks Dew for the beta...looks like the rom has lots of potential and I have full faith that you will pull together the best GB rom, but as of right now I'm going to have to go back to Charity 11.1. I don't know if my phone just hates any GB rom or what, but after full wipes across the board and multiple installs of each GB rom they all seem to perform like salted slugs on my phone. FC's on everything from Fbook to maps to ADW to the market. I think my phone just has a hard on for Froyo and thinks it's cheating when I put GB on there. Oh well I will still be in the charity froyo realm and honestly I think I'm ok with that, it gives me everything I need. Either way thank you Dew for everything you do and making my phone worth a damn!

I am considering trying my first Gb rom mostly because its a Crom. I was tempted to use Liquid, but felt i should wait a while. I have been flashing roms since sholesmod and out of almost every rom out there, liquid and charity stayed on my phone by far the longest. I think i have been running 11 since a few days after the release and never felt the need to change because its so good.Anyway, think i will save a solid copy of 11 on my sd card and give this a try, i rarely use my camcorder anyway.BTw i think you should donate to a pet shelter

I installed CROM yesterday. It is awesome. However, I experienced the following bugs:
- Power widget would not display the individual icons, nor would it function. This seemed to fix itself after a couple reboots.
- Market will not show some of the apps that used to be there.
- LED notification light did not work. I cleared the dalvik cache as advised by others. This fixed the issue.
- Video camera does not work for me.

These are the issues that I have been experiencing with the beta. Note: I reset defaults and cleared cache before installing. I then later cleared the dalvik cache to resolve the led notification issue. I can't seem to solve the problem with the market and video camera though.

I really miss the circle battery indicator from Charity Rom 11. Can you bring it back? Overall, I am very impressed with the rom! Thanks Dew!!

Tried it again. Still no luck with the indicator light. It does blink for the default Text Message program, so it works for some things. But not Handcent, or Voicemail, or Missed Call, or low battery.
I did try to clear the dalvik cache a few times. I guess it's just a bug somewhere, or my Droid just doesn't like this update.
Any other ideas? (Other than clearing that dalvik? Or an alternative way to clear it? My Clockwork Mod can be a bit glitchy and sometimes just reboots the phone again, and I never get any message or confirmation when I clear the dalvik...)

PS: Just some more testing before restoring my backup of Charity 11. My USB does not work either. The icon shows up in the notification bar, but selecting it just puts me back on the "desktop."

PS2: Installed this ROM using the instructions for installing Liquid Gingerbread, plus the dalvik cache format. Still not indicator light in HandCent, but I did gain USB connectivity.

I did install last night. I played a lot with it today and really felt like it installed very easy. I follow an old format for installing new roms that i got from the older versions of liquid roms which included wiping system, boot, cache, D cache, and i think two other things i am forgetting. I did everything 3 times to ensure everything was clear. My first impressions of this rom were the lock animation which was amazing, also how fast things moved with gingerbread launcher at 600mghz. Of course i moved to 1000 with set cpu and then added launcher pro which in my opinion slowed things down a bit.I will let it ride a few days since my phone may still be shocked as Dew said. I also have issues with camcorder, power widget. Cam is fine, my indicator lights are working fine. Odd things i noticed that no one else mentioned yet is the home button on bottom of the phone somtimes needs to be pressed 2-3 times for it to go back to the home screen, this was the case in LP and GB launchers. Also the lock screen animation effect is gone once i started using LP which upsets me because that was a really neat effect. I have to ask what else does gingerbread bring to the table that froyo dont? everything else seems no different than charity 11 to me... love to hear from you guys.

I did a push on the new market - lets say that was not a good idea after reinstalling the rom google updated it on its own after about an hour or so but only after leaving my phone idle for the time ... If you want I have two of the new markets pulled
