Every so often (a few times a week?) the Google quick search bar on my Droid will stop working properly. Only the bottom of text entered into the box is visible, and hitting the search button to submit does nothing. I don't remember when it first started happening, but it's been awhile now.

My current workaround is to kill the "quick search box" process via advanced task manager; it then autostarts and is fine for awhile.

I'm running stock 2.1 update1 on an unrooted Droid.

I've search around and haven't found anything on this issue, surely I'm not the only one?

I'm not using Search widget at this time (use Search key instead), but when I did use it, I had occasional problems like you describe. I deleted & re-added Search widget to fix.

Could this be happening when you're losing your 3G signal? I've seen this happen with another Google service from time to time.
