Those who use Quicken on your pc, what are your options on the DROID to keep up to date your checking / savings account? I know there is not quicken app for the droid, so I'm at a loss of what I can use to keep me up to date with my accounts.

I still use my pc for that.

While it would be ideal to have a Quicken app for the Droid (which may still happen), I use "Personal Assistant" by pageonce for now. It keeps track of bank accounts, online store accounts, social networking sites, etc.
Not the prettiest, but rather functional for what institutions are on their list.
For myself, I would like an app that just let me enter mileage (using GPS) and expenses. I hate getting home and having to deal with receipts. They get put aside too often.

Sounds like your experience with PA has been good.
I will do some research and see if I can reach a confort level of having to share my passwords...
Thanks,

I would love an application where I can enter in my expenses and then import them into quicken. Doesn't need to be fancy.. Company, amount, category and comment.
I have to say, I am liking Personal Assistant.
Easy quick glance and I don't have to add any transactions.
I don't think it will catagorize your expenses like Quiken though.
Still learning...
No sync like pocket quicken to quicken but Easymoney allows export to .csv which you can then import to quicken. I just use it to keep info on what I'm spending my money on, (notes, categories, etc.) My bank syncs all my transactions with quicken anyway so no need to go between the phone and quicken. It would be nice to have a two way sync or even for apps to directly access your bank account and update. I'm hoping the mint.com app comes out soon.
I have used quicken for over 20 years and I have used Pocket Quicken on my Sony Clie and then on my Treo's for many years. It really was great for keeping track of travel and business expenses. Now I have a Droid and even though there is no Pocket Quicken for the Droid I have found that I really don't mis it. I card most of my expenses and my bank & credit card sync with Quicken so I don't need to keep track on my phone.
I am hoping that Google will come up with an app that will sync with Quicken and my Google Calendar securely and that will end the search.
I just went to the Landware Website to see if they were developing anything for Android and they have a statement that Intuit terminated the relationship with Landware and so the Quicken mobile apps are no more.
I agree with those that have recommended personal Assistant. It gives me detailed updates on my banking, credit cards, ebay, paypal, even some local utility accounts. It also allows me to view my Netfix queue. It has a functional interface, not interactive, but then again, I don't want to manipulate my accounts from a portable device. All in all, a very useful app.

Similar history to you. Quicken user since early DOS version and Pocket Quicken since it came out. I used PQ mostly to have info handy. I could look at balances or any transaction anywere. Suppose I could do that from browser but not in one place.
going to get a droid soon. Finally having to let Palm go. Still shocked that with all the 'apps' they have had for over a decade, wi-fi before anyone, first with bluetooth on a pda, first with cell phone integration in a 'smart' device - that Palm doesn't own the world now instead of sinking into oblivion.
I'll throw in my "me too". I use Quicken on my PC, but would love a way to enter receipts on my Droid and then sync it with my PC later. I looked at mint.com but it seems like it's just an online thing, I don't see a way to get transactions from Mint to Quicken, but I may just be misunderstanding it.
Anyone have any luck with something to plug transactions and sync to PC with Mint or one of the other apps mentioned?
quicken lets you enter transactions that haven't hit your bank yet, reflecting the ending balance and just generally more relevant than the current balance.
Another approach would be to use LogMeIn or similar to access Quicken on your desktop. I have just tried it, and, while it can't be totally satisfactory viewing and navigating a Quicken screen on the Droid, it does work. I suppose a little practice will make it easier to use.
Yeah I am on the same boat looking for a way to sync my inc with quicken, I don't like min very much, it is just unacceptable that a giant like quicken hasn't an app for android (selling 200,000 units daily) yet, we can go on this website bellow and send them msgs requesting the bigger is the chance we all have to get a quicken app.
I sent them an email early august and this is their answer:
"I'd like to thank you for your input since this could be a very good product. I am providing to you a link where you can post your suggestion regarding this Quicken versions. The more people request it, the more likely it is to be designed.
This post is pretty old. There is a mint.com app for Android now (by Intuit). It's free. Just search "Mint" once you get your phone...
mint.com does not solved the problem of syncing quicken / ms money desktop to PDA. I got more than 10 years of data on ms money. I need something like Pocket Quicken on Android. Now I moved the data to Quicken 2010 and used with Pocket Quicken on Winmo. I'm going to stick to this solution until there are alternatives to this on android. I'will delayed my move to android

Also a longtime Quicken user here and Pocket Quicken on the early specific device then on a Treo since that was available.
I found an app called mooLa! that seems to be working pretty well on the phone. It allows tracking of several bank / credit card accounts and the use of categories. It does not sync with Quicken but will export a CSV file which can be converted to QIF for import into Quicken. I also found a free add-on for Excel to make the conversion. I'm using a free version of mooLa! but think I will spend the 6 or 7 bucks for the upgrade which then handles transfers between accounts. The only really annoying feature so far is the logo (icon) which is an overly cute cow face.
In case any developers are reading this, PLEASE develop Quicken for android SOON.
Three reasons to use this instead - transfers are included in the very minimally priced app (on sale for $1.25 until the end of the year); a nicer looking font (arial); no cow face icon.
I'm also a longtime Quicken user who used Pocket Quicken. I am using the anmoney progam on my droid and you CAN export your accounts to a .qif file to import into Quicken. Before a trip, I set the balances manually in anmoney then export my transactions to a .qif when I get home. Then import to quicken. Works like charm. My opinion on mint.com - worthless.
hookeywoods; thanks. also using quicken since 1988, have every bank transaction in that file;-) used a treo. frustrated nothing for droid, will give your suggestion a try.
my understanding is that with all the online money programs, quicken for desktop is declining. MS money threw in the towel. i am not hopeful for android quicken but would still love it.
Let me preface that I'm a CPA, so I keep a good hold of my personal finances.
I've been using quicken for 2.5 years (switched after MS Money discontinued. It was a decent program despite my complete disrespect of Microsoft).
I use Cash2QIF (by Steve Norris) on my Droid to enter cash expenses only. My bank and credit card accounts get automatically downloaded online. The App will export transactions in a .qif file to my desktop quicken, and after importing, I delete all transactions on the phone. The app is very simple, and very good! It's not very important to me to see all my accounts on the go - I need it only to be able to track and categorize expenses that I pay for in cash.
Quicken bought Mint.com a while ago, but I don't feel that Mint is as flexible as quicken yet, so I'm not ready to make the switch.
I am currently using MS Money - and am looking for a new software to use - I have looked at mint.com and it's greatest downfall is that you cannot input transactions as you make them and have them react correctly to downloaded content once that item has cleared - all Mint.com is useful for is being able to track all of your accounts in one place. I am seaking a software such that I can sync w/ either a PC or online also to allow that infor to sync with my wife's phone as well - so that as either of us make a purchase it can be entered in the android - it would connect and sync with the online account, in turn syncing with the other phone - keeping both account users up to date on what is actually available to use in the account - not what is showing as the current amount in the account from the bank!
I use pocket money on my tungsten e2 every day. It's really a great progrma which I think you would probably compare to pocket quicken. It's available in android but only the next version will allow synchronization with quicken. The current version allows exporting, and for $5 you could get it just for trysies. I'm going to get it next paycheck.

I just heard a commercial that TurboTax has a gps module to do this. Probably it just plus in to your usb. TurboTax and Quicken I believe are compatible or the same company.
I found what I think everyone has been looking for, including me. It's called "Moneydance" MoneydanceŽ 2010 - Personal Finance Manager for Mac, Windows, and Linux
It imports OFX, QFX, or QIF files, works on Windows, Mac or Linux, and is about the best replacement for Quicken or Microsoft Money that I have found and (insert drum roll here)..... on or around April, 25, 2011, this developer "Menne Software Solutions LLC" in conjunction and with support from the developers of Moneydance, will release an android app called "HandyBank for Android" that is made to enter transactions and sync by wifi with the Moneydance desktop. Their website is
Hope this helps. I'm going to be transferring all of my quicken data over as soon as possible. I also came across 2 other android apps, Synker and Tasker. Using these in conjunction, I think I can set my android phone to automatically sync my Moneydance transactions to the desktop when I get within wifi range at home. All this is in theory at the moment, but this is the plan once the "HandyBank for Android" app is released and I can start testing how all this will work.

I think you guys may have just solved my dilema as well. I'm so excited about it that I actually registered just to say thanks.
I hope this works. The trial version has an add on that gives a graph for a predicted balance - which is the main thing I want - something that tells me how much cash I am going to have after bills in the future. I'm ok with that being on my laptop, but in this day and age, it seemed rediculous to not have an app to go along with it. This sounds about perfect. I'm buying this tonight I am pretty sure.
I was using a combination of Yodlee and Mint. However, this past weekend my bank made an update and "quick connect" functionality no longer works. They told me it never should have. So, I have to download .qif files from my bank now.
Anyway, thanks! I'd love any tips anybody has if they are using this now. Now that I am registered I'll probably poke around the forums some too.
