Default Vibrate is too loud on droid

Is there any way to make my droid vibrate softer? It's too loud for meetings, etc, when I still need to be aware of notifications or even phone calls. There seems to be only one vibrate "volume" setting.

My coworker has an iphone, and it's very soft and only she can hear it when it vibrates. (I hope I don't get thrown out of the group for using the "i-word"!)

You can't adjust vibration intensity, right now at least. The point of vibrate is to be silent, so it wouldn't make sense for them to include a "vibrate volume" function. It is pretty loud, but I guess it's just a design flaw of sorts.

I suppose you could try looking for an application that lets you customize alerts and can set custom vibration patterns, and then set the phone to vibrate for short durations of time (two 0.1 sec vibrations for example). I know SMS Popup can do that, but it only works with text message alerts.

Thanks. I'll keep looking. I know it's possible because an app called STFU gives a tiny blip of vibration to indicate it's enabled. (But the app itself doesn't meet my needs.)
