Default Droid is not bricked, but won't turn. Help!

I was caught in a boot loop and then the phone shut down. Now it is completely unresponsive and will not even boot into recovery mode.

I know that it is not bricked, however, because when I plug it into my USB charger the light where the charger connects to the phone turns on.

The battery is not dead, my phone should turn on, but it won't.

The phone is rooted, if I take it back to Verizon will they give me a hard time?
