Default Another Droid problem...Music players speed up

My Droid has been doing strange things when playing music. The music will play fine for a couple of minutes, and then it sounds like you're playing a 33 rpm album at 78 rpm (I know that only means something to s limited audienc...lol). It suddenly just speeds up. This happens with Pandora, Audiogalaxy and Cube music player. I searched and found nothing about this. Any ideas?

Here's my phone;
OG Droid
Rooted
Project Elite (latest ROM that is not gingerbread)
Overclocked to 800 MHz

This started happening a couple of months ago, before I rooted. It stopped for quite awhile, so I forgot about it until this morning, when it started happening again.

TIA

I just updated without clearing the Delvik cache or whatever its called and without wiping. All I did was clear the system cache because I went for UD 3.2.1 to UD 3.3.1 and I had this same problem with Audiogalaxy. I have had this problem before and that was maybe more than 9 months ago but it came back for whatever reason today. VERY ANNOYING. i am looking for an answer with google but havent found anything but old dead threads that lead nowhere.

ANYONE! PLEASE HELP!!!

My Droid has actually been doing this with other audio apps as well. The visual Voicemail app has been playing at double speed lately. I have not been able to reproduce it with any audio app that is not streaming, so it may have something to do with my data feed. I have not been able to repeat it lately, so I can't tell if it happens on both wi-fi and 3G.

I had the same problem with the music sounding like the Chipmunks and I've narrowed it down to 2 suspects. Around the same time that the stock TTS had an upgrade that caused the Navi voice to sound slow and demonic I started trying various GB ROMS. My phone didn't like most of them but this is also when my stock music started going the fast play. I grabbed a few different TTS (SVOX works best for me), set those as default, rebooted, good to go. Also, the Project Elite GB 5.0.1 (with black chrome theme) has been by far the most stable for me.

*EDIT... Just read you had the problem pre-GB which looks like it has something to do with the stock Pico TTS update that in reading the comments in Market, has royally f'd everyones TTS.

All my sound apps are running fast.
Alvin and the Chipmunks.
Not rooted, either.
Edit - hard boot and it appears to be "fixed."

Turn the phone off and then turn it back on. Not to be confused with 'sleep' mode.
Hold the power button down until you are asked, "Silent Mode" or "Airplane Mode" or "Power Off."
Select Power Off.
