Default Youtube low quality setting not showing full screen

Not sure if I can get much help about this because it involves a rooted device with the Ultimate Droid ROM.

Anyway, I remember in the past I could watch YouTube videos in either high quality or low quality, and no matter which I chose, it would play the video in full screen. Low quality would just simply be a lower quality, which is fine. However, now when I play videos in low quality, it plays them smaller, which I don't like because I can't see it as well, obviously.

Can anything be done about this?? I read some threads about it possibly being a device limitation, but I know that's not true because of my past experiences.
