Default error message in K9 Inbox?

I have been successfully using K9 as my mail client on Droid Incredible2. All of a sudden it began acting up, not fetching mail. The inbox folder displays a new grayed out message that reads:

java.lang.StringIndexOutOfB

What does this mean and how do I fix issue?
