Default Broken Power Button

So my power button was broken a couple weeks ago and i didnt know of any other way to turn my phone on unless it was with the charger, is there any other way possiblwe to turn on the phone without having to use the power button?! it really sucks when your battery falls out at school with no wall charger to turn your phone back on lol.

Wake All. Lets you use any button, camera, volume, et cetera.
And something like Screen Off & Lock shuts it off without any button at all. Tap the icon on the screen ab=nd the phone is asleep.

I went through the same thing in September.

But if you look, you can find apps to wake the phone using any sensor. Tap tap app uses the proximity sensor. Some you can shake the phone to wake it...accelerometer.
Look in the Market.

My wife's phone is having the same problem. We have the 5.99/mo insurance on it, and she wants to call it in and have Verizon replace the phone. Will they replace it for a power button? Her 2 yrs is up in Feb, and we've both got concerns that the exchange will extend her date WAY past February...

Any suggestions other than the apps / widgets above (I'm gonna check those out tmrw)

Yes, they replaced mine for just that reason - if it is within the 1st year you should have the warranty cover it, not the insurance.
