Exclamation Touch The Android Not Working, Need To Login

My droid is rooted and over the weekend the SD card was no longer accessible. Today I put the card in an extender and looked at the contents on the computer, the card is readable. i did a format of the card and this did not help, neither did a replacement card. So the droid does not read the SD slot. I could live with that I think, the phone was working I just didn't have access to stored music and files.

On reboot I am presented with the Touch The Android to Continue screen; there is an error screen that flashes by so quickly I can't read it, but when I touch the Android it glows but nothing happens. I can select language changes and bypass this screen BUT....

There is no network connection. I haven't been disconnected, and going outside made no difference, the signal strength meter is a big red X.

So I cannot read the SD to flash a new ROM and I cannot log into Google - is there any way to get this thing back on the network???

try *221 or *228, I forget which one it is, but it seems that it thinks it is not a part of the network anymore for whatever reason. of course, you'll need to bypass first.

Also, after bypassing, try playing around and seeing if you may not in fact have larger issues.

Finally, after formatting the card, did you copy all the data back (as in first copy data off the card, then format it, then copy it all back)?

Thank you for the reply johngalt, true the phone isn't connecting to service. When I bypass android the message "The application setup wizard (process com.android.setupwizard) has stopped unexpectedly" pops up. Once you Force Close to get past this the screen is black, with the no service icon, battery and date in the status bar. There is no button to bring up the phone so can't dial.

Called and verified with Verizon that is isn't my service (and that I am eligible for an upgrade). If I hit the power button once then again to get to the lockscreen, it does show the Watermarkd theme I had applied but still says no service.

I was running Liquid Froyo 1.95 with the V6 Supercharger script, RZ lv kernel set 600-900Mhz.

I did copy everything back, but the phone will not read any SD card I put in - they all read ok in the computer.

Went through a lot of gyrations last night, about 12:40am I was able to get an SD card to be recognized. Loaded up a clean version of LFY 1.95 and was syncing apps within 15 min. Not sure how or why the SD card failed again, but my droid is on a very short leash now. Not even restoring the backup just ready to move on, at least I have a phone to use again. Thanks again for the support!

Glad you got it all working, and thank you for coming back and reporting.

If you need to keep / have access to your call logs, before clearing them out, get Call Log Backup and Restore - Market link and make a backup of them.

Same for SMS - get SMS Backup and Restore - Market link and make a backup of them first. Then delete them (both apps will not only make the backups but also delete them right there, and if you buy the pro version of SMS B&R it has scheduling capabilities as well.

Also, you mentioned that you cleared cache of all the apps - was this on the downloaded app tab or the All apps tab?
