Phone is freezing up and i have to take the battery out to restart it. Today it even restarted itself. It has become really slow to respond in the last three days and I got a message that I was low on memory. According to my phone, I have plenty of space left. Total space 14.93GB, Available space 14.69GB. Internal space 71.59MB. Not sure what all this means but I don't have many apps, no gamming, no pictures or videos. I don't understand what's wrong. I removed the ATK and went through all apps and cleaned the cache on those that had one. Could this be a virus?

No virus.
The space on the sd card is not the issue, it's the free ram on the phone.
Which started as 256mb (on a d1)...about 26% free.

Delete any sms as they take a lot of room.
If the phone continues rebooting by itself, I'd call VZW and return it.
