Default Please help

I have not a clue what I am doing or where I should post this thread, however, I need help. I tried to switch phones today to a Droid and it's giving me problems. It was working fine earlier before I tried to switch over but when I brought it to the store it died (wasn't charged when I received it today in the mail) so we plugged it up but wouldn't work! It turns on and everything, the screen lights up, but I can't see anything. I've never had a droid so I was hoping someone could help or direct me where to get help! Thanks so much! -Lindon

Which droid do you ahve?

Android is the name of the operating system (like Windows or Linux).

DROID is a family of devices by Verizon Wireless starting with the Motorola DROID, and including the HTC Droid Incredible, the Droid 2, D3, Dx, DX2, and Droid Bionic and HTC Droid Incredible 2. Oh, and Droid Charge by Samsung.

All other Android phones are just Android phones, and referred to by their names, like Thunderbolt, Galaxy, etc.

Sad to say I'm not sure. It's a manufacture refurbished phone. All it says is that it's a verizon motorola droid on the phone. When I turn it on, it lights up a bit but nothing shows on the screen. I can feel myself pushing buttons because it vibrates a little bit but cannot see anything! SO confused!

Let's slow down and back up a bit. Most times this is a simple "let's wait for the battery to fully charge" but in this case it may need a replacement.

First of all, which phone are you switching to? And when you say you brought it to the store, which store? Is this a carrier (VZW, AT&T) phone, meaning you're on a contract, or is this a Pay-as-you-go phone, like a smaller carrier like Cricket / Boost?

I'm switching from a Verizon Dare to a Motorola Droid. My plan is with Page Plus though. I took it to a Boost store because that's what customer service told me to go to and they're a carrier of Page Plus. I can send it back and get another. I'm just not aware of how to use a Droid phone so I was thinking I hit a button or did something to the phone so that I can't see the screen. It still works because I've accidentally called something on it. I can feel the phone vibrate when I hit buttons..

@Lindon - go get a replacement since the phone is new - no sense in fooling with it at this point. When you get your new phone come back and let us know - I own the Motorola DROID and I'm pretty active (still) in that forum even though I've moved on to a new phone (Droid BIONIC). We'll get you up and running in now time.

You could try to get into stock recovery and perform a factory reset - I cannot remember if that is an option or not, let me look - but my advice is to get a replacement now.
