Confused Help!

Hi, I am the somewhat proud and upset owner of a Motorola Droid(a855). I was having accelerometer and proximity sensor problems so I did a reset. Now I can not get the phone to accept my Google password. I ended up setting up a new email account, but the whole reason for having the phone was so I could access emails and a lot of other programs while on the road. Does any one know how I can fix this?
