Default battery problem?

Got a Droid 1 from ebay. Everything works fine. Rooted. OS 2.2.1 FRG82D. Data off. Background off. Bloat deleted. Problem is the battery, I think. When I charge to 100% & turn off the phone, it drains to 20% within hours. I charged it, did some housekeeping, & let it sit in locked screen, screen off, & 6 hours later still @ 95%. Why wud it drain in off & do soooo well on? Thanks.

Man. First post & I already screwed up. Wrong forum. Shuda read posting instructions b4 posting. Sorry.

I think you are posting in the right spot, but I'm not sure it the mods or guides have moved this already. Rest assured, I have seen that they are certainly not like the KGB, they must take into consideration the "newness" of a user.

Anyway, you are probably dealing with a 2 -3 year old battery and this is common. I have two OG Droids (my 4yr old uses them for games) and the battery level can go from zero to 20% in minutes plugged in or from 98% to low is a very short time. If you can find a new battery (Moto batteries have been pretty interchangeable in the past so this would increase the odds you could find a new one) you could try that or if this is a toy / experimental type of thing you could work with keeping it plugged in.

Anyway, I hope you have a good experience here and welcome to Android Forums.
