Default New to smart phones

Im new to smart phones so im having trouble with my droid
its diferent than a regular cell phone but im trying to get used to the touch screen , im having problems because it frezes on me and i dont know how to reset ti , ive tryed taking of the battery but it doesnt work the on and of switch and the touch pad dont respond i only get the droid logo on and of

gutsdroid is offline

It should not be freezing and re-booting, you may have a defective phone.
What apps have you installed? It may be one of them but probably not. Take it back and get a new one.

Yeh, you're phone should not be freezing. Mine never does. My guess would also be that an app you might have installed is conflicting with something.
