Best way to root with Linux as operating system?
I'm trying to root my damn Droid X (pardon my frustration; It's been a long, uncooperative day). First I tried the method found here: Multiple phones - Root them, unroot them - Droid Forum - Verizon Droid & the Motorola Droid Forum
I tried using Step 2 Option A, since I don't have Windows on any computer I own or have access to. I get to the following part before it doesn't work properly:
Quote:
- cd /tmp
- cp /sdcard/download/rage*.bin /tmp/
- chmod 777 rage*.bin
- ./rage*.bin
This will take some time, just wait for the $ to show up so you know it is done.

I try to do step 4, but after typing ./rage*.bin I get an error message: Cannot find adb: No such file or directory
So I want to try some other method, since I don't know how to solve the adb problem, nor have I found any help online.
I have the official 2.2 OTA update and I'm running Linux Mint 9 GNOME.
Anyone know what I should do?
