Default Still on 2.3.9 leak need guidence back to stock

Hey everyone I have been out of this game a while and haven't kept up with all the new stuff, like we have roms now?? So I guess some smart ppl figured out the bootloader deal. Anyway I'm still on a leaked 2.3.9 unrooted. I just wanna get back to stock right now so I can get OTA updates. Later on I might venture back out and root and rom it. Can anyone point me in the right direction all help is much appreciated.

I'm in the same boat. I don't understand why we were left out in the cold. Can't someone please just give us an update.zip that will fix everything?

This link may help you guys out although I don't know if the download links are still alive ,or download tbh app( team black hat) from the market for $2 and the new sbf are in there
Update.zip for . 340 Kernel, Radio Image, Bootloader, and System!
also no one cracked the bootloader they are just working off the new ota builds, and i don't know of 2.3.9 as I guess I missed it but if its compatible with 2.2 then you may be able to flash the 2.2 sbf and then take the. 340 ota and be right buck up to speed, I am not sure if it will work though since as I said I am un aware of the 2.3.9 leak so you may have to do some homework since I don't want to mislead you and create a mess just trying to offer some ideas, here's a link for the 2.2 sbf with instructions should you need it

Im at work so I wont be able to search for links..

But since you're on 2.3.9 you must have the droidx bootstrapper right??

What you'll need.

Rsd lite 4.6
THE GIFT (SBF file)
Droid x boot strapper
clockwork rom manager

Someone correct me if im wrong.
Bit the 2.3.9 was the first leak out there.

Then cane 2.3.13 and 2.3.15
The 2.3.15 is the official OTA
You'll need to sbf to 2.1 and from there you will need to reactivate your phone. There is a vid on youtube for this.

Once that's done you'll be guided to a 2.2 update ota.

Upon receiving that. Another update will follow. Which is 2.3.340
That's what most people are using. If they're not on that then they are on the leak that came right before it. 2.3.320

Im not sure if you want to reroot after all the updates but there is an app called z4 root which you can find with a little google fu.

I hope that helps. If im vague im sorry. Im on break.

But good luck to you!
Ask steven58 he's gdlk with instructions and is a great guide as with everyone else on here.

I don't think I have bootstrapper not sure thou because when i put this leak on my phone it was in a update.zip if i can just get my phone back to stock and then download all the OTA then i will just leave it alone lol its to complicated to mess around with it and dont have time to keep up with all this stuff like i use to

Right, I'm not rooted either. I just took the update.zip thinking it was official and have been stuck ever since.

alohas post sounds right. I'm on the original 2.3.9 as well and been thinking of sbf'ing back to 2.1 to get the updates and have a newer load. I just need to install rsd on my laptop which is the only 32bit machine I've got.

That sbf appears to have done the trick. You have to be patient and not unplug your phone until you are done booting up. You have to dial *228 option 1 to reactivate your phone. Once I completed that I was able to pull the 340 update which is currently downloading. I'll report back if I have an issue, but thanks all in advance!

Yep worked as promised. I even kept all my settings and apps. Perfectly seamless. This is the way to go without reverting back to 2.1. Thanks much guys!

I ran quadrant and even got a 1407. 2.2.1 is definitely faster than the leak version. Everything seems smoother than before. I'm hoping the audio / music bug I was having is gone too, but only time will tell on that one since it happened randomly with 2.3.9.

I'm on the leaked 2.3.9 froyo also. Where did you get the 2.3.15 sbf from? Link?
Thanks!

Another question, once you sbf'ed did your bootloader update to 30.04? According to this link: TBH Patches: 2.3.340-System, Baseband, 2.3.340-Kernel, Bootloader an sbf will not update the bootloader without following those steps. My bootloader is still 30.01 (on leaked 2.3.9) and I don't want to brick my device when trying to sbf.

This is getting confusing.....

The bootloader also looks like it gets updated in this process.
