Default Dark Android Red for Liberty 1.0

Dark Android Red for Liberty 1.0

Dark Android Red is a very detailed dark theme with red highlights for Liberty 1.0.

The following system apps are themed in this version:
  1. Google Search Box
  2. Contacts
  3. Dialer
  4. News Widget
  5. Settings
  6. Power Widget
  7. Browser
  8. Gingerbread Keyboard
  9. MotoTorch Widget
  10. Ringer Widget
  11. Google Voice (Installed to system)

If you would like to see Dark Android ported to another ROM, I gladly accept requests and I will see if I or someone else can do so in a reasonable amount of time. If you would like to test or help in development, please email me at daDesigns@mpmitchell.com.

As always, I am not responsible for anything that happens to your phone and all mods, including this theme and all others, have the possibility of damaging your phone. I will do my best to support my theme and assist with any errors that may be caused by this theme. Please read all instructions and entire thread before installing. Important information can be within the thread in user posts. Please remember that I do this as a hobby after my full time job so please allow adequate time for me to respond to a question or issue.

To install Dark Android, download the package and follow the below instructions:
You should always backup your system before installing any ROM or theme.
  1. Copy DarkAndroid.zip to your sdcard
  2. Reboot into Bootstrap Recovery
  3. Install zip from sdcard
  4. Choose zip
  5. Browse and select zip
  6. Install zip
  7. When complete, use back button or power button to back up
  8. Reboot phone

There is also a goodies pack that contains lots of icons, wallpapers, LP docks, and alternate fonts. To use the extra content in the goodies pack, download them into a folder on your sdcard.
  1. The goodies pack should be extracted onto you sdcard
  2. The icons can be applied using Launcher Pro, Desktop Visualizer, Folder Organizer, or one of the many other choices for icon customization.
  3. The docks can be used with Launcher Pro.
  4. The fonts are in flashable zips so once extracted, they can be flashed.
  5. Of course, the wallpapers are applied the normal way using the gallery selection or other tool.

For more information about how to use Launcher Pro to modify your dock and icons, check out their user guide here.

if i already have a theme running other than the basic liberty, currently using mysterious beast, after making my backups what is the best way to apply this theme?

when i first installed liberty i tried one theme, then went to try another with just loading the zip file through bootstrapper and my phone went into a boot loop and i had to do a data wipe and start over. then i only installed mysterious beast from a .zip and everything has been fine since. i would like to avoid the boot loop.

also for the launcher pro .apk can i just place that on the root of the sd card and install it just like an app?

It is always recommended to install a new theme from the default theme in a ROM. There are restore options in the liberty toolbox that can help get you back to stock. You can always try without restoring, but you could see some combination of themes where something that was themed in one is not themed in the other. As long as you make a backup, you will be able to get back to where you started.

Launcher Pro should be installed like an app. You do have to remove the .zip on the end leaving the .apk. That makes it easier to download (security issues with unknown file types) and downloadable from the Android browser.

I know there is a Liberty theme option. You an try that one. You can usually flash the ROM again without resetting the phone. You just have to reset it sometimes to get rid of incompatible data. If you have been running it, you should be fine. Always backup first though.

Yes, me want Dark Android for 1.5 as well. While we are on this topic, I was running Dark Android on Liberty 1.0, but mine was green. Is the Dark Android Blue a separate download?

Didn't really like the green that much, but love everything else. So, when I saw Blue Android mentioned in here, that caught my attention.

Thanks!
