Default [Theme] Black, White, and Chrome for Gingerbread 2.3.3.4.5.588 Latest Leak

I've finished porting BWC for GB 2.3.3.4.5.588 (most recent leak), it was a pain in the butt, finally I'm done, well hopefully

It's been working good so far with no issues that I have noticed. If you guys catch anything that I missed, please let me know so I can get on it and correct it.

You guys know the usual disclaimers about "you" being responsible for your own phone, etc.

MUST READ before installing:

1. Make sure you are deodexed before installing, otherwise you will be in "force close heaven"

2. Check to see if your market has been updated to v2.3.6. Go to Menu/Settings/Applications/Manage applications, select the "All" tab and scroll to the market. Select "Market", and if it shows you are on v2.3.6, uninstall the update before proceeding to install the theme, otherwise your market will force close and will only be fixed by flashing your backup.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Theme Download Link (Version 3.3; contains all current fixes):
http://www.mediafire.com/?dccxw6328dt2i39

MD5 Checksum Version 3.3: 4be1b89c75c8058b01e14249a87b8ce3

BlurDialer dropdown menu text visibility fix (For Versions 3.2 and below, Verion 3.3 does not need it. This had been bothering me for a while, finally got it fixed; see post #81):
http://www.mediafire.com/?wytns1u33xw8c9n

BlurContacts and Multitouch KB text Visibility Fix (For Version 3.1 and below, Version 3.2 does not need this; see posts #57, #60, *67, and #72):
http://www.mediafire.com/?of5dhj3jhuo43tx

Settings>Volume Text Visibilty fix (For Version 3 and below, Version 3.1 does not need it; see post #43):
http://www.mediafire.com/?ikk64liq797fof1

Contacts and Market text visibility fix (For Version 2 and below; see posts #28, #32, and #34):
http://www.mediafire.com/?qczn4fvrpux2cb3
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Market:
Has the latest market v2.3.6, themed Black Market.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Settings Menu and Stock Dialer:
Have been inverted to black, no longer the light colored background.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

AppWidgetPicker:
Included to clean-up/group your widgets menu.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TV/CRT Animation:

This theme has the mod

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dialer One (modded to match BWC):
It comes with the most recent v1.2.7.6.

Note:
When you first install BWC Dialer One it will not match the BWC theme, it will be a gray color. To make it match the BWC theme, do the following:

When in the app, go to Menu>Settings>General settings>Application theme and select the "Black" option, and that will do it

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dock Icons:
If you want the dock icons I am using, search "Tallmin icons" on Google and you will find them very easily.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BWC folder installed on SD Card has:

- "Addon" folder that contains addons such as, BWC Dialer One, Modded Pandora.
- Dock backgrounds for Replacement Home apps and some wallpapers.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

** Expect a long boot up after applying (3-5 mins) **

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think I found a small bug. I use the multi touch KB and when the phone is vertical all is fine but when it is turned to landscape the keyboard is light gray with white letters which you just cant see. Turn it vertical and its cool again. unfortunately, I almost always type in landscape orientation because the buttons are larger.

That's the stock keyboard, but the key letters are white. I forgot to change some pngs for when the keyboard is in landscape.......that's an easy fix, but I'm not home now.

not a single one here. are you running the 2nd leaked GB without doing the deodex file first?

Most likely a deodex issue. Either you weren't deodexed or you weren't deodexed properly.

Update to first post:

Added Version 2 of the theme to fix Mulitouch KB Landscape mode.

For those who have already installed the theme, I also added a zip file to apply only the keyboard fix so you won't have to re-apply the whole theme

It's not, it's only rooted. You have to apply the deodex file. P3 made one, I made one, and a few other people made one......take your pic

Thanks so much for the awesome work! How can I buy you a beer? Quick question: I installed your deodexed zip earlier and it works just fine. But, I wanted to use the pulldown editor p3droid recently put out and apparently you have to use his deodexed file for it to work. Can I just flash his zip over this one of yours, or do I have to nandroid back, flash his, and then your BWC theme? Also, you were saying there were problems with others deodexed file. Have you had a chance to look at p3's newest one, and if so, would you use it or is there still bugs? Or, even better could you make the pulldown editor thing work with your files? I just like your work...never had a problem.

No need for all that mess bro. Use this link and post #267 will tell you exactly how to change it yourself.... Just use the zip from this theme and follow the steps and you will be golden.....

If you want P3Droid's "Easter Egg", which is the Pulldown Text Editor, then you'll have to use his Deodex file. I've read that it's causing some people issues.....I'm not going to "knowingly" add something that may cause issues to my deodex file. Plus, if I take something like that and incorporate it into my work (assuming I could ), it may cause other issues like being accused of stealing other's work, I don't want to deal with that

I haven't looked at his latest deodex file either, reason being I had already made one

This look pretty dog on good. Thanks for bringing new life to GB.

EDIT: There it's only one issue I have, it's hard to read test on some input screens. The one in the screen shot is from the market.

I love the look of this theme. Only problem I've found so far is that I'm getting constant FC's in Swype when it's my input method. I've tried Closing & Deleting Data on the app to no avail.

I definitely prefer Swype over the other keyboards. I'm going to try re-applying the theme and see what happens.

I'll look into that; what other screens is it hard to read text on?

I have no issues with swype at all; I prefer it over multitouch too.

What I ended up doing is installing the 4.5.573 version of Swype. It's working now.

I noticed this yesterday in Contacts. When you go to edit, the Header titles are not visible, such as Phone, Email, Postal address, etc. Damn this dialer is a pain

It's now fixed though, just finished it up a few minutes ago

Still have to check out the Market text issue; later, when I get some time

Fixed:

UPDATED first post:

Added the fix for the text visibility issue when trying to comment an app on the Market, and fixed a text visibility issue when editing contacts.

Default Mail Notification

Is this what the gmail/email notification is supposed to be with this theme?

The reason I ask is that no matter what I change it to in framework or gmail using Ninjamorph, it NEVER changes! Ugh.

PS. Really like the theme of course!

Yeah, that's what it looks like for Gmail, I didn't bother changing it; I would think it's in the Gmail.apk.

I use Touchdown.

Yeah, it's in the gmail.apk but for the love of all that's holy I can't get it to change. Only one I can't get to change. It most certainly has to be user error, but I've done it so many times before.

Thanks again for the port!

Thanks for the fixes. So, just flash the updated file over the existing setup?

EDIT: Nvm, reading is fundamental...lol.

Been using this theme for a couple days now and have noticed one thing. In settings when changing volume levels the text in the pop up is black on black. Other than that looks very good. Great work especially getting rid of the white on menu screens. I second the chrome battery too.

I hadn't even noticed that, probably because I don't use it. I use QuickSettings, it's much better.

It's probably more like a dark gray or something, if it was black, you wouldn't be able to see it at all.

EDIT:
I'm not very good with photoshop/paint.net, etc. Maybe someone who is good with it can create a chromed out battery icon set.

I love BWC and have used it on Apex, Liberty etc. I was glad to see it come to GB. I am having an issue with it though. I cannot get the market to work. I have deodexed and redeodex to make sure that it worked using bouchigo's deodex file. I uninstalled the update to the market. I am able install and get BWC on my phone in good working order. I can open the black market app. But as soon as my finger touches the market, it force closes. I reopen it and the same thing happens. I have wiped cache, data, delvik cache and same result. I flashed back tried again with the same result. I really want BWC on my phone. Any suggestions??

Follow the directions in "RED" in the first post and you should be good; especially the last part of Step 2.

Thank you for your response bouchigo! If you are referring to the step of uninstalling market updates before installing the theme, I did do that and double checked afterwards to make sure. The uninstall updates option was not there the second time. I did run your deodex file prior to install. I am using the 4.5.588 leak.
