Cool Some droid x help

While I have been able to root my droid x and have used it successfully for a few months now I am still a noob about many things. My current issue is that I went to check if the GB update was made available and now I am stuck in a battle with my droid about installing the update. My phone is currently rooted with 2.3.340 with a few system apps removed. My question to the forum is how to I stop the phone from asking me to install the update and whether it would be worth my while to upgrade to the rooted version of the GB OS and how do I go about doing so.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know how you stop the phone from asking you to update. But I feel it will be worth it to upgrade to GB.

Go here Official DX Gingerbread 2.3.3 (4.5.596) Release Thread - Something for everyone

And follow Method 2. You will need Droid 2 Bootstrap program. You will also need to download the two-part upgrade zip files. Then you will boot into recovery and flash both parts in order.

To stop it look here..

*****Stop the ota from downloading and installing*****

I would say upgrade to GB, for me its more stable, smoother, and better battery life.. much better all around.

If you want to do this you will need to follow these steps found in this thread..

Link to .596 OTA (Rooted/Odexed/Deodexed/Etc)
