Default Best/easiest way of updating?

I havent updated my phone in a while but getting tired of constant lock ups now. at first i didnt mind but just as months went on, its time to update my DX.

android version: 2.2.1
kernal: 2.6.32.9
MOD/ROM Version: Liberty v1.5

all help is greatly appreciated

You can use my tutorial to sbf back to stock and then upgrade... just skip the last part (installing a ROM)
