Notsure Contacts not syncing with MIUI

My old contacts are not appearing after flashing MIUI for the first time:
MIUI Shadow 1.10.7_Eng_Deo_ZipA_Signed_DXC

Yes I am set up to sync with Google Contacts. I went online to check my GoogContact page and none of my old contacts are there either, but I am confident that if I SBF'd back to .605 with no root, all my stuff would appear.
Calendar, e-mail, market apps, downloads, are all there and synced via Goog just fine.
BTW, although this is my first time flashing a ROM...ever; I am quite sure I did everything correct.

Maybe this is a known bug that I just don't know about. Anyone know of a solution?

On a positive note, I am semi-enjoying MIUI. I need to figure out how the theme browser thingy works, as sometimes it doesn't connect, but I'll figure it out and do some searching.

If the google sync is working, my best guess would be that you didn't sync your contacts on your previous rom to your google account. If you did a nandroid backup of the last state where all contacts existed, perhaps it would be best to go back to that point and sync to google jik.

actually previous rom or not it doesnt matter

contacts are synced with your google account. so once you log in, your account is synced with your contacts and etc etc.

it is possible it is a bug in the miui development, why not try another version?
