Need more info....

What were you running before?

Did you wipe data before installing?

You need to format data if you're changing roms... no way around that now.

Pull the battery.
Reinsert the battery, then get into stock recovery. (depends on the rom type). How To Get To Stock Recovery

What sbf did you flash? (602 I hope).

That's not the correct SBF.

Does 605 back to 340 seem like a big jump?

There's stickies right above your post for a reason... [TUTORIAL]Simple Gingerbread .602 SBF and Root Process (Updated 9.9.11)

I'd flash to 602 and wipe data (aka factory reset).

I'd check for updates and update to 605, then root.

If it isn't working right, I'd factory reset again. Once it's working backup your rom in recovery.

to be perfectly honest...you're so spun around backwards and FUBAR'd at this point my suggestion is simply this...

1. SBF to .602 (Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread)
2. Reboot and go into stock recovery(there was a link posted on how to do that)
3. While in recovery...Wipe Data (unavoidable at this point, nothing you can do about it)
4. once phone boots up you're going to go to "about phone" then "system updates." you will get a notification to install version .605 (Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread)
5. install it
6. root
7. come on back and we can discuss Romming your phone

that isnt natural, i have installed every rom out there on my dx, and i never have this problem, it has to be something you are doing with the rom itself, or something.

are you making sure that the ROMs are for the right version? Ya know, that you're not trying to put a FroYo ROM onto a Gingerbread setup or vice versa?

are you checking the MD5 of each download to make sure you're getting a valid download of the Rom?

At this point, you should consider the possibility that you have corrupted data. Start from scratch. Delete all copies of the ROMs you have downloaded & get new ones from known good sources. Wipe any & all backups.

When you download a Rom it has an MD5 value posted next to the download link. ( usually) so when you download your rom you need to make sure the MD5 of your downloaded Rom matches the MD5 of what is posted next to the link.

A lot of things are your friend when you know how to use it.

Data for apps is often on the sdcard. Did you format or erase that?

I commend you guys for trying to help this guy! My head hurts reading it! Just shows how good of a group we have here!

Couple things I will throw out there, is there ever really a reason to format your SD card unless you are getting SD card errors.

Also always wipe data when going to a new rom, use a backup program like TB or My Back up Root, or Jrummys new back up tool.

if you ever want to just start over, its a good idea to wipe the sd card, because it does contain alot of information about you that you dont know about

Funny, I just deleted my Shuji backup because it kept going into CWR. I'm sure there is a fix but I have enough ROMs backed that I enjoy using anyway and didn't feel like searching for the solution. As far as Vortex goes, I've never had it happen to me, but the Vortex toolbox has a fix for rebooting into CWR.
