No camera driver = no camera, stock or third party. There's just nothing for it to connect to.
thanks, found out for myself last night. nice ROM, not nice without camera or gallery in my case. definitely want to roll it again when the camera is working, its nice and its fast. seemed to have decent battery life as well. hope the devs can get this straightened out, the gps and nav were the fastest yet, even surpassing the stock ROM including all up to .605
well done to the entire dev team!

Nothing on that. Right now it's not a priority. I think someone will get on it soon though because they rewrote the driver for the Xoom already, that should give them an idea of what to do.
Funny how that's always a low priority. Since it's an integral part of the device, it should at least be on the list instead of font packages and such. Well, I'm not a developer, so I don't personally know what goes into fixing these things. I do know that when somebody brings a car to my shop with a list of issues, I don't fix the ash tray before I get the engine running.
I realize these guys are working their tails off, and I don't want to sound impatient or ungrateful for their work. it just seems that the hardware should work on a device before the additional software is written, since most of the time, the additional software ends up re-written after the hardware is fixed to accommodate the hardware into the fix. Seems a little counter-productive at times.
Yeah I hear ya man. I'd love to have a working camera right now too. I'm hoping someone picks up on the Xoom stuff and works out a driver from there. I'd do it if I had any idea how to code. But I can live without a camera for now.
My job actually is a lot easier if i can take pics of customer cars and send them the progress, sometimes the repair requires going deep into the engine compartment and there is no way to describe the work to them. Gotta have a functional camera, gallery and MMS
I dig the coati photo, Bugly. I have been running Beta 3 for 10 days now and it is very stable. I can wait for the camera and voice input. For phone, email, texts, gmaps and gmail everything has been working great. I really like the new interface. It feels more "techie". Gmail is much better, because most of the commands are now little icons instead of having to use the menu button. Bluetooth works great for my speakerphone and headphones. Definitely worth a try.
firstEncounter is doing some source work for his next build. I don't know the details yet but if our devs did manage to finaly get their hands on the source for ICS, a full port to the X might not be too far off. Let's cross our fingers shall we?

Thats good news. I. too ran it for a little while, but have to have a working camera and MMS for customers. it is a lot smoother and faster than GB but without some functionality, I can't beta test it.
Just coming from the Motorola Triumph and Virgin Mobile to this phone and Verizon! Big difference.....
I do have a question...Did anyone try the new Chrome from the market that was released this week? I tried it, and it looks like a page will load, but its just a blank screen...I was thinking because this isn't a "true" ROM, we fool the market into downloading it, but it really doesn't perform correctly.
If I am wrong, PLEASE SOMEONE LET ME KNOW! I really wanna try Chrome on this phone.....And, yes, I did all the usual stuff.....uninstalled the app, re-installed the ROM, everything...
Thanks!

It's been tested by a few people using this rom and no one has gotten it to work. I tried Chrome beta myself and got the same results you did.

We have the same problem on the Triumph as well, and from what I've read on Reddit, a lot of people on stock ICS and on ICS ports are having problems with it. Its just really not good overall, and I'm a little sad Google released it in such a state.

In my opinion Google should have released a version that will run on non ICS. Because it will be a couple years before everyone is running the ICS OS standard.

That does seem odd, doesn't it, since Chrome and Android OS are both their products.
