I hate to say this but i'm thinking of dumping my DX and going with a samsung. Possibly the galaxy s2. Don't get me wrong, I love my DX but damn man. It's slowly getting left behind.
There are already a few phones out with real ICS 4.0. The s2 being one of them. And our poor little DX can't even get a proper port of it because of the harware differences.
Not too mention my favorite Rom(MIUI) just keeps getting update after update with the same damn bugs as the previous version. I know what the problem is, the damn locked bootloader.
So, now that my rant is done with...lol....I'm gonna go over to the samsung pages and get some recommendations. This of course doesn't meen i'm leaving you guys here at the DX corner. I will be giving my phone to the misses so I will still have to support it for her.
P:S I read the S2 is on the list for an "official" 4.0 update.

you just want a forum that has more than 3-4 new posts everyday, dont you? It is a sad state of affairs seeing how dead this place has become in the past month or so.

The thought crossed my mind....lol. I've been busy allot lately but that's not the only reason I haven't been around. There's just nothing more to do with the DX as of right now.
I try to stop in and help some newbs but you seasoned vets get to them before I do so no need to post the same thing you guys already did. Plus I would really like to have a device that's not closed up tighter than my ex's !@#$.
actually i dont think the dx side is dead at all. its still a powerhouse device, what do you think will happen if we actually get the keys??? (haha ok that was funny cause it wont happen)
it will be a new day for the DX.
but yeah i have the nexus, and i dont frequent the forums over there that often, not as much as i do here
Oh I know it's not dead.....Just in a slump right now that's not gonna end till god knows when. I still love my X. That's why Ima gonna give it to me other half. As long as she has it, I still have it. Get it?....lol.

Im a bit gun-shy of Samsung after my Moment experience a few years ago. In a nutshell, they brought the phone to market and in 6 months time released the Moment 2 to address the unpatchable bugs and simply left us standing there with a new phone and WTF written in lipstick across or foreheads.
I'd consider the SG3...if it comes to Verizon. There's no guarantee that it will. I'm also curious if HTC's quad-core will come to Verizon. My biggest problem with HTC is Sense. It's ok, but I like stock Android more.
Oh, and why are manufacturers still putting physical/capacitive buttons on the phones. I'd rather have the ICS onscreen buttons.
I'm one of those people that weighs the phones price against the phones specs. And while the Nexus is a nice phone, the GS2 is pretty close in features for a better price (for me anyway).
And the GS2 is getting ICS. So why would I spend the money for the Nexus when I can get what I'm looking for in the GS2? You have to remember i'm not one of those "I have to have the latest and greatest" kinda guys. I'm happy with having an older model IF it does what I want it to.
